It's over! I'm home!

To all the gals still waiting: I had a TAH on Monday and came home yesterday (Wed). The worst thing about the whole ordeal was the fear beforehand. Let me tell you: the day you go in, take a deep breath, be calm, because it is almost over. I was in the middle of a sentence with the anethesiologist and all of a sudden they were waking me up! He didn't even tell me he was putting me out. I liked that because I wasn't afraid at all. They have nice medicines to help with any pain so be sure to ask for what you need. Whatever problems you have had that led up to this decision, your recovery will most likely be not as bad as what you have already been through. I know I was scared to death and appreciated everyone's comments so much on this board so if I can help to alleviate anybody's fears, I hope I can do so.

It's over! I'm home!

slipperlady,

Glad that you're home and that everything went well for you.
Welcome to the other side where you can now share your story! Just remember, no matter how good you feel, !!!
Because if you don't get enough rest, you will end up starting your recovery process from the beginning.

REST REST REST!!

It's over! I'm home!

Congrats and welcome to the other side!! Now that you are on this side of the fence take all the advise we give you about a healthy recovery. Don't over do it and find out the hard way. I did things too soon and paid dearly. The house work can wait. Sit back and enjoy being waited on. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Good Luck and hope all goes well for you.

Welcome to the other side!! So glad to hear things went well! I had the same experience w/ the anesthesiologist -- he didn't tell me it was time (I was glad) - he asked a question, and in the middle of my reply, I was out. Next thing I knew, I was awake and it was over.

Now, be the total Princess that you are and take good care of yourself. Rest and relax... enjoy the pampering.

Be well!

It's over! I'm home!

I had a LAVH on tuesday and came home on wednesday. The surgery went well- I'm sore but that is about it. The hospital and nurses were great- it's really not that bad!!! Good luck to all going through this this week.

It's over! I'm home!

Yay, Slipperlady! We made it.

Welcome home. I came home Wednesday, too. I have percoset but, frankly, I haven't needed too many of them. Getting up and down can be a chore but DH is being a great help.

Rest and recover. We're only getting better now.
