Hi sisters,
I am 10 day post op, and yesterday was a pretty good day, a friend came over and the family and him went out for a local italian meal (bad idea huge indigestion). Was wired late evening and sleep well.

This morning I had a Dr. appt. to remove rest of staples. DH drove me there and Dr. said incision is healing the best (knock on wood). We then went out
for lunch.

Then I insisted that DH take me to a new store, Trader Joes (a gourmet supermarket, that just opened on Friday, I couldn't wait, so by the second aisle I was feeling lightheaded but continue, panic attack started along with the chills. Finished at the store, but had to sit in the car while DH went to
Staples. 3 1/2 hours more than enough for first outing. Feeling better already after Xanax and some rest.

HI All ... I am 13 days post op and have felt good for a while, never more pain than a 2 on the 1-10 scale. Weekends are killers, with four kids, and places to go, they are tiring ... I did small shopping today and am now officially done for the day! Time to sit until they get out of school. It's the little things we do that don't seem like much that add up to exhaustion! The best thing I had was dinners made from church members for 2 weeks, every other day ... that way I got a visitor for a few minutes and dinner ready to go ... if anyone offers, take them up on it! My MD was the same with no sex for 6 weeks due to proper healing and risk of infection ... stay chillin' girls and watch all those pad and tampon ads on TV and know that you don't need them anymore

I'm so excited to feel so good so fast.

Hope you're doing well.........

Hi Christine,

I'm glad to hear you are doing well and feeling good - I am too! I'm doing okay with the BM's too, but I still definitely need the stool softener 2x/day.
I got out for a couple of short walks yesterday and today and really enjoyed the fresh air. I'm already getting tired of resting so much and spending so much time reading and watching TV. I read your post about your 'overactive' day - I can understand why you wanted to putter around and do a few things, especially since you were feeling fine at the time. I suppose we really do have to rest a lot at this stage, though, whether we like it or not! I hope you are back to feeling great very soon.

Take care,
Linda

Recovering still

Hello fellow Princesses!

After the overdo on day 5, I continued to improve but was still quite sore. I traced it to the recliner. I guess pushing down with my legs to lower the foot part was causing me to strain my stomach muscles. I switched to the couch, not as comfortable, but now have very little pain. I am experiencing some sleepless nights but from what I've read here, it's not abnormal.

For those with BM problems, I have found that 1-2 of Activa yogurts, 3 prunes & 2 OTC stool softeners @ bedtime per day seems to have gotten me back on schedule. Hope this combo works for others too!

Watching lots of TV & frankly I'm sick of it! But had a moment of joy when a "feminine product" commerical came on & I realized I don't have to worry about that anymore. YEAH! I did the sitting down happy dance

Hope the rest of you are recovering well too.

Kisses to all

Mindy

Yeah ! Very cool! I'm not sure what to do with my leftovers........!! I even bought some pantyliners before surgery, assuming I would need them afterward, but haven't so much as spotted since..........

DH was doing laundry the other day......because of all of the "accidents" from heavy, and unpredictable bleeding, most of my underwear doesn't look so pretty anymore, if you know what I mean........well, he said to me, "Hey, cool, we need a trip to Victorias Secret to get you some new underwear, and they won't get stained anymore!" He was actually very excited for me about that! Just one more bonus!!!

Take care,
Christine

Careful Christine!!

Those new undies could get you in serious trouble before your 6 weeks are up.

.....but what a neat idea..... a shopping trip to look forward to.... and brand new "seat covers" to boot!! Can't go wrong there.

Enjoy....... just don't overdo.......

Always cold - hormones working????

It's now 6 days post-op. I had a TAH/BSO and everything went great. The doctor thought I had cancer; but all results came back negative. I'm so happy you can't believe. I'm feeling pretty good, had staples removed today. My only concern is that I'm always feeling cold. I'm driving my hubby crazy Does anyone else have this problem? I guess I shouldn't complain and I'm not; but just wondering if this is normal?????

I am too, just didn't loose my ovaries in this surgery. I called my gyn and asked and he said that it could be the anesthesia working out of my system. I see him again on friday, and if continues he'll check everything over.

I graduated to packing my surgical wounds. Not a picnic, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Thank God! I do get nearly panicky about the change before the changes. My 10 yr old son helps do it, as I am able to do almost all of it myself. No doggone nurses. I don't need that added stress.

I'm now 11 days post op. I've been open again since 9 days ago.

I am finally back home alone with my 3 sons. B is 11 next friday, and M&M are 20 month old twins (boys all of them).

retired-

I have been, for the most part, freezing since my surgery. I go for my 2 week check tomorrow and it's on my list to ask him about! The only exception (and I did post a question on this) was that on a few instances I have been cold, wrapped up in a sweater or blanket, then all of a sudden I am HOT. Then after a few minutes it passes. Hmmm....

I am 14 days post-op TVH-BSO, and finding myself tired after small things. Not cold at all, but boy these hot flashes are driving me crazy. HRT not working well or I am not giving it enough time. I was just wondering if anyone else is still spotting or should I be calling my doctor.
