Things are going pretty well with me- now 2 weeks post op (TAH/BSO). My DH is taking me to the office for a couple of hours this afternoon to submit a report that needs to be done today. I slept in this morning - conserving my energy for this afternoon. (By the way.... I work as a bookkeeper for my husband's business... so my hours are VERY flexible.... thankfully my "boss" understands.)

As for the dog..... we have a 95 lb golden retriever.... and we love her dearly. However, she "extended her paw" to me the other day and when I didn't catch it in time it landed on my stomach... and fell right on my incision... Instant PAIN!! ......... Just be careful.....

Hope all are healing well.....

Take Care

Up and not running

Thanks to the girls who have email or responded to me personally. What a treat it is to have others who are going through the change with me. I am cruising along like nothing has happend other than the persistant intestinal pain. I didn't realize just how crappy I felt prior to surgery. I am not having any pain from incesion. I had a complete removal of all things female. I am not happy with the no sex for 4-6 weeks rule. Is it considered oral sex if you are talking about it all the time? Oh well, I am nervous about resuming the old romance. Been married 17yrs and my man has been great. He found this website for me and encouraged me to hook up (I think he was trying to keep me from hanging him by his toes). I'm glad I found you, Thanks!!!

Glad your DH found us for you, Uteresless!

Ok, I'm now 10 days post op. Went to doctor today because I felt like I had a bladder infection - and I DO! She did tell me she was glad I caught it early, if it goes into your kidneys, this soon after surgery, and you get a fever from it or anything, they'll hospitalize you, BLAH!

I asked about the BM's being painful. She told me they did so much work in that "area" anything going through there just aggrivates it. She said it could be that way for awhile, until I've healed some more. GREAT! The BM's and gas pains are the worst, now with the bladder infection, I'm starting to be afraid of my bathroom!

This too shall pass..............

I hope you're all doing well.

Christine

Hi Christine,
I've been getting the same sharp pains. They make me jump because they are so unexpected. From what I've read they are par for the course. Let me know what your doctor says, ok, I'm curious.
Thanks

Hi-
I also had sugery on 10/15- robot assisted, left cervix ovaries-
I returned to MD today w/ concerns about pain- sometimes pretty bad cramps as you described- MD assured me everything was
healing, even checked for bladder infection, it was neg.- He said it was typical for pain to cont. for 4-6 weeks, getting alittle better
as times passes- I'm sometimes thankful to be able to reach the floor again & then I'm depressed that I don't feel perfect-
It's good to knpw others are feeling as I do-Thanks-

Okay ladies, I have finally sat down and figured out how many days it has been since I had surgery---12 days. I find that I am constantly doing to much. I feel so much better, secretly wondering if the doc did a mini tummy tuck while he was in there, my tummy feels really tight. I am sure he didn't because I didn't pay extra (just dreaming). Handed out candy all night to all the little ghouls an gobblins. Up and down not a good thing. I even prepared dinner tonight. I must take more pain medication if I am to get any rest. I stopped taking the meds due to the constipation issue, yet that still doesn't seem to help me "go". The nurse on my last day in the hospital had a great quote for an enema hought I would pass it along it still makes me laugh, she said "High, Hot and Hell of a lot" She was a great nurse. I went back up to see her yesterday and she didn't even recognize me. I guess I really looked like hell! Thanks for all the replys you girls have helped when no one else could.

Hi! This Is My Firt Post---
Had A Tah, Bso, And Cervix Removed On 10/17/07. Did Not Find Out About Hystersisters Until This Past Week. I Really Wish I Had Known Before Hand To Have Been A Little Better Prepared. Everything Happened So Fast, I Was Willing To Do Anything To Relieve The Pain And The 9 Weeks Of Bleeding.

Today Was 14 Days--still Have 14 Of 28 Staples And Walking A Little Better. Still Having Diffficulty Sitting For Long Periods Of Time And Sleeping Through The Night. Don't Want To Take Pills--would Rather Tough It Out.

Find Out This Friday About Hrt--any Suggestions?? Scared And Not Sure What To Expect.

Blessings To All

Hey Fuschiacow,

I am on the patch don't really know what my doc put me on was just not willing to go into menopause at 36 so I just told him to do whatever until I could recover and do my own research. i went into surgery not knowing if they were going to take everything (which they did) so I did not do any research before hand. I had tried everything under the sun for the past year to remedy without surgery. I wish you well and am glad that I am on the patch for right now. I'm sure I would be a true witch without it. Good luck and keep reading this site it sure has helped me through the last almost 2 weeks
