Jazz2, I'm sorry to hear that. My TAH A&P repair was the day after you, so we're on the same page. I've walked a little bit, slowly, down the street and back, maybe a block total. I do this once a day. No cleaning. I still need naps and lay-down time every afternoon, plus couch potato in the evening. Too bad you can't push a pie in your MIL's face. hahahaha

Happy Birthday Christine!

I know about that pushing too hard - I walked around the grocery store this past weekend for about 2 hours and paid for it that evening and the next day. I also have been lifting my son a bit (stop looking at me like that, I have to!) My hubby is so frustrated with me and my hard-headedness, but after reading some of these posts, I promise to be more careful.

I can't imagine how scared you must have been, Lisa! Sending you love and healing light.

Here's to everyone and remembering to take a little better care and love with ourselves! TLC never hurt anybody.

Over doing it and paying the price!!

OK, Marci and Christine, reading your posts made me think I was reading my own.

I had a TAH with ovaries and cervix also removed on 10/18. I felt really good on Tuesday and Wednesday (Halloween) and did too much. Suffice to say, I have been a MUCH better patient the last two days.

I got a little scared this morning as I had some cramping but after reading everyone's posts and taking some pain meds, I am feeling a little better.

I think I will cheat and have some wine with my pizza tonight to celebrate being good today.

Cheers!

Melissa - 36 TAH due to adenomyosis

I'm so sorry ~ I wish they could be more supportive for you. Do they know this isn't you - it's doctor's orders?

Try not to overdo it, really!!

Had hyster on the 18th Oct (everything except the appendix) and finally, just yesterday got out of pajamas and got dressed and went on an outing to the coffee shop. I went today and bought a panty girdle and it feels so much better walking around. I had nausea for about a day or so in the hosp, and threw up a few times also, like others. I lost a lot of blood and didn't choose to have a transfusion and have slowly been building up the blood reserve with iron 3 times a day and vitamin C. Don't really have the sensation of when I have to go to the bathroom. Just have pressure or pain, so I go to try and something usually happens. How is everyone's weight? When I came home from the hospital, I was 2 lbs more than before I went in and then about a week postop, I was down 10 lbs and now back up about 3 lbs. So I am about 5 lbs lighter than my original weight?? Anybody else?

Melissa,

I too had TAH 10/19 one week before I turned 36 due to the same as you. DR. took 45 mins just to get to my uterus then more time trying to remove it from my bladder. Assisting attendant told my husband that she didn't know how I was even walking around with all the mess I had in me. I like to think tha I am just a tough cookie. I find it so unbelievable that so many of us have the same symptoms before surgey and findings after surgery. I don't remember this many women having this surgery when I was a little girl. Makes you wonder what in the world they are putting in our food. Good luck and rest up. I am not one to take my own advice so I too have been overdoing it every third day or so. I am not in real pain so I tend to over due it often. Take care and I will be joining you in the glass of wine for dinner.

Theara

Happy Birthday Christine!!!

weight

I gained 6 pounds post op (day after surg)...13 days later I have lost 23 pounds. Some of it I am sure because I am eating very little since the iron pills are making me nauseau.
