Oh Honey - I am thinking of you and hope you get through this well - they are so clever these days, I am sure you will. I had all mine out at once and feel so much better. I am surprised they left your ovaries because they told me it was best to get mine out at the same BECAUSE of the increased cancer risk. My hopes and prayers are with you xxxxxxx

I had an LAVH on Oct 18th and my DR told me that I might have some bright red bleeding (light though) along with some blue thread coming out every now and then around the two week post op point. He said not to worry that it was a sign that the internal stitches were dissolving. No bleeding has happened yet, though I have seen small pcs of blue thread here and there. Hope you are o.k... I don't get to go back to the DR til 4 weeks post op. Take care!

Thanks for the kind words

Thanks all for the good wishes re my return to the castle for bleeding. I am hanging in there, not much bleeding now, but still a bit freaked out. It is disheartening when you think you're doing so well and then...boom. Back to taking it easy. But I keep telling myself, one day at a time, it will get better.

Christine, hope you are taking it easy too and bleeding has stopped.

Free4ever, so sorry to hear about your scare. Hope your surgery goes well and everything works out.

I am having new weird sensations and pains too now that its the end of week three. How weird that there is more pain now than right after post-op! I am getting a burning sensation in my right tummy. Anyone else?

Hi girls, it's day 16 for me and I know I just overdid it. We had company from 11:00am until 8:30pm and I couldn't stop being Ms. Hostess. I climbed on a stool to get plates for everyone for the Pizza!!! I did 6 loads of laundry and swept all my hardwood floors upstars. I've been driving since day 3 now. One thing this surgery has taught me is that I have no control. I can't stop myself!!!

I also have some sort of reddish-yellow discharge that stared 4 days ago and I'm afraid to go to my doctor. Should I just wait it out and see what happens???

Still lots of gas but the BM's are definately getting easier, "Hallelujah!!!"
Any suggestions for entertainment that won't make me crazy???

I had my surgery TAH on the 17th. I am concerned that I have been doing to much myself. I increased my walking to 45 minutes. On Saturday my husband and I walked at a park for one hour. Then that evening I opened and closed a window and felt like I strained myself. I have been having strange sensations. I find myself forgetting to take it easy because I feel well but the last two days my body has been telling me to slow down.

We're hysti date sisters......thanks for your feedback. I read a response the other day and another sister told me it's referred to as 'rust-color'; further, it is indeed 'stuff' inside coming out. From viewing some the many sisters' progress notes, it seems that discharge may occur in a variety of colors, and it's nature's way of cleansing our bodies. Much love and speedy recov

3 weeks today!

Hi, Sisters! Today is my third week of recovery. I am unlike most of you, as I am lazy by nature, I guess, so being home for me is terrific! I have mastered most games online. The shock of having to go back to work in 3 weeks is depressing!

Last week, Monday, I went grocery shopping for a few things. I was too embarassed to ride in the cart. I should have! I walked very slowly, but since I covered most aisles, (for 10 things at most), I was hurting when I got home! No heavy lifting, all carts.....I guess just a little too much too soon. Now, for the past 3 nights, I've had trouble sleeping too! Why, does anyone know? Take care all, and maybe I'll get out today!

lolo,

Hi! I also started making it out on my own last week, and a few times did a bit too much as well. Spent most of Thursday and Friday on the couch again because of it.
As far as sleeping, the first 1-1 1/2 weeks I had a VERY hard time sleeping, then I would get a few good nights alternating with a few bad. My docs explanation (for almost all my "ills" ) is hormones (kept my ovaries). He did say it was OK to take something at night to help me sleep, I had some Xanax he had perscribed prior to surgery for anxiety and it was OK to take as long as I didn't take any narcotic pain meds that night too. My MIL also sent me calcium lactate tabs, and said to take 6 (!) about 1/2 hour before bedtime to help me sleep. Tried it last night, and about 25 mins after I was all but asleep in the chair I was in!
Hope this helps, have a great (EASY) day!

Thanks, JavaJane, I may have to try the Calcium Lactate for sleeping. The first 3 days, I had night sweats, which I presumed was from ovaries "waking up". Maybe they're still catching up!
