still pain, swelled or gained weight?

I still tire very easily and earlier today I had severe sharp pains in my lower right side and on around my back. I still have problems with urinating as I can't get it started and occassionally have sharp tummy pains during it. I still can't wear my blue jeans so I feel so unattractive wearing sweatpants all the time. Anyone else still bloated or am I just gaining weight! I'm planning to get married on Thanksgiving day, I sure I hope things are healed by then! I had a 1 week check up and another check up just the other day. My doctor says I'm not healing as fast as I should be and gave me a little pinch down yonder that made me shake and cry-not sure what he did down there but it sure did hurt! Now he wants to see me again in 3 months. Will the pain ever end? Is my future husband doomed?

Paininthe:
Thanks.....I'm a few days from 4 weeks out, and I was told ABSOLUTELY no vacuuming for 6 weeks. I tried in my 2nd week and it felt like something was pulling on the inside. It is normal for you to feel tired 3 weeks out. What I'm finding on this site is women who have to return to work, or a rigorous daily routine after surgery, are having the most discomfort. It seems the more you are able to rest in those crucial first few weeks, the less painful your recovery is. I'm blessed that I don't have any obligations at this time. I'm a full-time student, that withdrawn my classes. Additionally, I will be working a work-study assignment if I'm active in classes. I've been so bored at home all day, but I'm actually feeling fantastic now. So, take it easy as much as you can. If you have a busy lifestyle, walk slowly.....climb stairs backwards.....don't lift anything over 5lbs.(my nurse told me the rule is 10, but she insisted on 5). Take it very e-a-s-y.....your body will alert your limitations....God Bless!!

Sunshine 36:
These are still our crucial healing weeks; I had my TAH the day before you and yes, I have many sharp, tingling sensations throughout the day. If you've been running a lot of errands, preparing for your wedding on Thanksgiving Day, you're pushing yourself too fast. You MUST remember your body has been through trauma, and must be nurtured!! In reading the other sisters' reports, it seems you're pushing yourself too fast!! Slow down!!

Hi Sisters!

I Am Almost At My 4 Week Mark!

I Am So Excited Because I Have Been So Bored Here At Home. I Went To The Movies Today And Was So Excited But Started Hurting From Sitting So Long (i Have An Up & Down Incision)

I Am Making Plans To Travel By Car For Thanksgiving--a 4 Hour Road Trip. Has Anybody Experienced Sitting For Long Periods Of Time After Surgery? If So, How Did You Do? Any Suggestions To Make Sitting Upright A Little More Comfortable.

I Am Going To Call Dr. Tomorrow Since My Appt Is Not Until After Thanksgiving--(not Good For Weight Check After The Big Holiday!!lol)

Thanks

Stirstick- My DH is very patient ( as they all should be!), but I'm not budging on waiting for my DR to clear us before resuming sex. With that being said, we decided to just pretend we were teenagers again. It's been rather fun! My doctor said "NOTHING in the vagina" which I've followed. Someone on an earlier post called it, "outercourse". My DH, who is a bit older than some called it "heavy petting". I busted up laughing at that one. We started laughing and comparing it to Clinton's " I did not have sexual relations with that woman"..so everything OUTSIDE is what we are doing.
Now, did you ever imagine you'd be discussing your sex life with someone you've never met face to face?? I'm so grateful to this board.

Well, I am feeling much better. I am going to deal with the hormonal changes I have decieded. I can do that or let them get the better of me and I refuse to do that. I am 4 weeks post op and have my good days and my bad days. I cleaned the bathroom yesterday and paid for it last night. I had to take a pain pill. DH does not look at that kind of thing. The tub looked like a war zone. He said it was fine.
I hope the rest of you ladies are finding your selves feeling better. Like everyone says we need to listen to our doctors and try not to be heros. We will all be feeling better soon enough and back to our normal lives and hopefully feeling better than we did before our surgery.

Good morning ladies. Finally after 25d post op, I feel much better. I can actually sit up to get out of bed without pain, as opposed to rolling up from my side.
I have swelling and bloating mostly left sided. My incision is horizontal. However, my left ovary had a cyst on it that was removed. I think the swelling is due to the additional work I had done on that side. My jeans fit in the morning but irritate my incision by early afternoon.
I am traveling 8 1/2h by car on Thurs with the "go ahead" from my DR. She said to take breaks often and that I may be more comfortable laying down in the back seat.
I am tempted to vaccum but guilt prevents me from doing so. I keep enlising my DS and DD to do it for me. They have been very helpful - my DH is the cook and kitchen cleaner, I don't know if he even knows how to turn on the vaccum LOL.
I too am very grateful to have this website. Have a wonderful day all.
