Hi Dinkum

I am on the lowest dose of Climara. I was started on it 2 days post-op so it has been on for 7 days. I don't have the headache that I had before they sent me home. I believe that my hormones are out of whack and I also had my thyroid removed 18 years ago and that has been messed up as well so my story may not help you too much. I hope that you will be feeling as good as new soon.

Just made it back this afternoon from a week-long vacation, and it's great to be home! Our family (of 5) went with another family (of 6) up to the mountains, about 20 or so minutes from Rocky Mountain Natl Park. We got a bit of snow during the week, enough for the kiddos to go 'saucering' in. We stayed in a condo/timeshare so we made our Thanksgiving dinner there. Only had to take any meds 2 times the whole week , once after a hike up to some waterfalls which was quite pretty, and then night before last, not sure why, just achy/pulling/sore and couldn't sleep for the life of me.
ANYWAYS.... I sure missed keeping up on how you all are doing, felt like I was missing something!! Hoping you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and are all feeling super.
Can hardly believe it will be 6 weeks this coming week, but I am VERY anxious for my 6 week checkup. DH and I are trying soooo hard to be patient, but I must admit these last few days have been killers! Whenever I am overly tempted, I just remember those stories I have seen here about what can happen if you jump the gun. Soooooo... we wait.
OK, back on topic... again, hope you all have had a relaxing, healing week. Good luck with MD appointments this week, and praying for good reports for all! :dance2:

Hello sisters! Sounds like most of you have been behaving and taking care of yourselves. My prayers to you who have no choice! Please be careful! Jane, sounds like you had a pretty Thanksgiving! I love Colorado! I have wanted to move there my whole life; it is so beautiful! I'm so used to this Texas heat, don't know what to do with all that snow! lol. I had a quiet and uneventful Thanksgiving which is what I wanted. I didn't feel like getting out and visiting this year. And omg...it's time to put up the tree...can you believe it! I don't know how I'm gonna do that. My DH is disabled, so I'm the one who always does this xmas stuff.
Well I have been actually doing pretty darn good. I have almost felt back to normal the past 4-5 days. I have not been lifting anything over 10lbs however. No headaches, no HRT, not too many pains in the belly, hot flashes are subsiding, emotions have been alittle wack, but I think that is just my life in general right now. Still get tired if I exert myself. My only real issues is discharge...still..... at least the odor has eased up a bit. Anyone else still have this issue?? I wonder if I have an infection??
Per Dr "M", I did go ahead and request one more week off work. So those of you that have the choice, I would take it! I figure I only get one chance to do this right, and once I'm back to work, their gonna want me to be 120%, and I just don't have that in me right now. So I'm hoping after one more week, I might at least be at 90%!! Trust me, these days employers have no loyalty to their employees. They will just step over your dead body and hire a replacement! So get yourselves well!
I go to the doc this week for my 6 wk check up....hoping to get released for sex and baths! Even though, must admit, nervous about the sex. I'm glad I have this sight to help with the anxiety! Listening to ya'll whine makes me feel so much better.....so ya'll don't feel bad about it! It helps!
Good luck to everyone on the follow ups & blessings to all!

Hello Sisters,
I'm doing really good; however, still have some minor on/off pain at the end of urination and some sharp pains on left and right side of my incision area. Still have swelly belly and get tired pretty quick; anyone got any ideas how long this will last. I went out to the grocery store today and was only out for 1 1/2 hours before I had very sharp pains on right and left sides. It was pretty difficult to walk so my hubby got me home and I took some pain medicine and put my feet up for the evening! I go for my 6 week post op visit tomorrow morning and I'm going to ask my Dr. to extend my STD for another 2 weeks if possible. My job is pretty fast pace and I don't sit at my desk often and I'm scheduled to be out in the weather walking and taking ground photos at a static display a couple of days the week I'm scheduled to return to work. I just don't think I'm up to that walking and carrying my photo equip. around just yet.

Terri, I'm right there with you and when I return my boss is going to expect me to be 120% as well and I just don't think I'm ready for that. I'm afraid if I go back too soon it's going to be hard for me to convince him otherwise. Let me know what you sisters think!!

I kept both ovaries; so I'm not doing HRT. My hormones seem to be leveling out; hot/cold spells and PMS has gotten a lot better.

Take care and good luck at the post op visits this week. Let me know how your post op visits go. Continue to try to take it easy; I know that's not easy especially this time of the year!!!

Love you all!!

Dinkum

I had mine the day before you and I am not on any HRT yet. I have recently started getting hot flashes and have had a couple of migraines so I think I will talk to my doctor about it next week.
Are you on anything?

I started HRT in the hospital- I think they slapped the patch on during the surgery! LOL. I've had some odd little things-joint aches and pains, headaches, some weepiness..so I think I may need just a bit of tweeking in the dosage or something. I'm on Climara Pro. Will see my Dr this week for 6 week checkup.

Hi Lizzie...

Yes, I had a few terrible days- so I called dr's office. He had me pick up some samples of Premarin .45 to start on. We haven't talked about HRT yet.... will cover it at my 6 week appointment Wednesday (11/28) afternoon.

I think the Premarin is helping some, but the hot flashes and mood swing stuff is still VERY disturbing. (Some hot flashes bring about heart palpitations and dizziness... so I'm a little concerned.)

Will post again after my dr appointment.... Am anxious to hear where other TAH/BSO ladies stand.

Take care all....

He is totally dependent, he is in diapers due to Cerebral Palsy from the heart attack he had at 3 months old.

WELL !!!!!! I picked him up and moved him to his recliner. WELL I am hurting like you can not believe today.
My abdomen is so tender, it feels heavy and achy. Ok say it !!! STUPID should have not picked him up. But I was the only one home, and I had no other choice.
I am in so much trouble with my doctor. There has been no bleeding, cramping like I pulled a muscle. So I am hoping that is all it is.

Well please pray that I did not mess up big time.

Happy Thanksgiving!! God Bless you all.
Speedy Recovery to all.
Now trying to stay out of trouble now.

My toddler son (one of the twins) has cp too. His is from brain bleeds in his nicu stay. How is your son doing? Matthew nearly walks, he just has to work on balance. He's lazy too, likes to just cuddle and forgo the work, therapy etc. It must be so hard recovering from this with a son with such disabilities.
