Hi Ladies,
Well, went for my six week today. Doc says everything looks good. My incinsion had healed nicely and said swelling is very minimal. He said that I have less swelling than 90% of the women he sees. He told me to start taking the HRT again and that will help with those issues. I still am sore in the belly but he said that is quite normal and some pain during urination but that is normal too. He said it would take time. I go back to work on Friday and I am a little nervous about that. I hope I make it throught the day ok. I get so sore just walking but maybe that will help take my mind off of it.
Hope you are all doing well today.

I have been back to work for a week now. Things are going well there. However, I was very sick over the weekend. Not sure if it was the flu or what. Thursday night after the inlaws went home, I was sitting on the couch and turned quickly to speak to dh. I felt something pop and it seemed like I had sent myself back 4 weeks. I even had a hard time getting up off of the couch. Not quite sure what happened in there but am not feeling any lasting effects today.

I will be going tomorrow for my first post-op visit. I still have a discharge and discomfort way down low. I also have a headache today but I think it is due to the weather. I sure dislike having to lay around when there are so many things that need to be done. You see, I live with a bunch of men who just don't understand....... it's not their fault. I do feel a little better after I vent. Thankful for having a place to do that.

I tried out my new Peekachu!

Hello Ladies!!
I am now 5 weeks post op and have had one huge roller coaster ride. I told my man to just smile and hang on; told him when I'm happy to be prepared for the down hill slide to "Grumpyville". He is so very understanding. My Doc released me for all normal activities at my 4wk check up. Apparently Oklahoma Dr's are more aggressive with release times. Since the Dr. released me and well let's just say I have been biting at the bit to return to my formal womanly self I went home and decided to give it a whirl. Needless to say we took it slow. I have to say that the old addage "slow but steady wins the race" is true but I just about died when it came to the finishing touch. I have to say that I cried for about 20 mins afterward. I wasn't prepared for the pain and emotion that accompanied our "reunion". We had both talked so much about how we missed each other and then when we finally got back to "it" I felt detached. I don't know about the rest of you who have been released for sex, but there isn't much room anymore. I was worried about feeling like a virgin again but this took the cake. We have gone there quite a few more times and each has been better than the last. A few glasses of wine before our last time seemed to do the trick in relaxing me enough. I just felt so tense and couldn't let go, my hubby pointed to my head and said that I wasn't ready here. He truly is a great guy! I am on HRT Primarin 1.25 mg a day. I still am not sure that dosage is enough. Something still is not right, I just can't put my finger on it though. I am planning a trip to my reg. doc to have some test run on my hormone levels and see if there is something amiss. Good luck to all who have not gone "there" yet and would love the hear from those of you who have. Am I the only one who feels so abnormal in all this?

Hi Utereless,my dr. cleared me also & we have enjoyed being back together. It is does feel somewhat different but we are still enjoying the pleassures of our encounters. I asked my dh if he could tell anything was different, still feels the same to him, so he says!
My hormones are still flucuating, I'm on the vivelle dot 1.0. According to what I have been told, they will continue to flucuate as i have plenty of belly fat & that is where our bodies store extra hormones. I printed up the list of symtoms for too much & too little hormones and for me I see minor day to day symptoms for both-----so confusing! about every 8 or 10 days I have a crash day, just feel blah, sometimes weepy. I'll forwarn my dh----Hormone day hell, watch out. I just wish when my fat releases these stored up hormones, it (the fat!) would go with it, HA HA!!!!!!! In the mean time I remain in this constant state of flux. Most days are good. I do have to say that I'm much better Than before HRT, I was having these homone hell days alot more than not. Dr. said based on my h. levels I would have reached menopause in a year!
Hope all goes well for you & you find that happy medium. keep in touch. And don't forget to pamper the princess &continue to heal well!

Hello Ladies......

I'm sorry so many of you are having trouble with the menopausal and hormonal symptoms. I've been lucky with that so far. A few night sweats here and there. I won't start HRT for another two months or so, but my doctor told me it may take some "tweaking", that it could take some time to get the levels just right for me. I'm sure this is the case for you all too.......hang in there!

Well I am 5 weeks post op today. My DH threw out his back over the weekend. Had to take him to the ER. When we were leaving the hospital, I went to get the car because he could hardly walk. I reached over the passenger side to open the door for him when I pulled up and felt something "tear"......or at least that's what it felt like. I've been in pain ever since. No bleeding or bruising or anything, but I'm bummed. I had been feeling so good last week.

Supposed to return to work next week. Think I'm going to go part-time a day or two.....I'm freaking out. I AM SO TIRED. What is with this? I can't understand why I'm this tired 5 weeks post op! Anyone else? I don't know what I'm going to do.

Well, needless to say, between DH and I, we're quite a couple. Can't get my Christmas decorations down from the attic, neither of us can lift anything right now. My poor DS is carrying the laundry baskets for us!!

I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend........I sure missed you all.

Take care,
Christine

Hello Sisters,
I also had my 6 week post op visit today and although my doctor cleared me for nomal activities; I still have severe pain on the left and right side of my incision area when I'm on my feet for more than 1 hour. I still have some slight swelling below and above my incision but nothing major the doctor says. Today I've had on and off pain even when sitting and I'm a little depressed about that. Because of the pain I still have, my doctor extended my STD another 2 weeks (now I have to submit more paperwork to the provider), wish me luck getting that approved. I'm nervous as a cat about having sex and I'm so glad I have you sisters. I don't know what I would have done over these weeks if I did not have you to talk to. You're the best!!!! Keep taking it slow as you can; I still don't think that 6 weeks is enough time to heal from something like this.

Take care and God Bless!

Hi all.
So glad to hear from those of you who have been off for awhile.
Glover07: was your DR ok on extending your STD? I have been considering taking more than 6 weeks.....due to swelling and continued pain (not horrible but much worse with the swelling). I work on my feet all day and right now I can't even go to the grocery store and back home without consequences. I wonder how I'm going to do back at work.
This has been a very humbling experience. Just when I think I'm doing great, ouch, I'm down again.
Took 3 days off and rested, rested, rested. I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. And then, one day back on my feet and swelly belly and pain returns. I wonder, what is it going to take?
Sorry to vent......gotta get it off my chest.
I see my DR on Thurs. Hoping for more recovery time.
Take care all.
Love,
C
