11 days after surgery pain of overdoing
I had my LAVH on oct 4th and came home the evening ove the 5th. I have my ups and downs. I started feeling better Thursday evening Friday I was not so good again. I have court ordered visitations with my daughter (4hour drive) and that was Sat. I went (I need to comply 85%) Sat night was awful, Sunday was a little better. Yesterday I was completely beat. the pain from the weekend was better and by the eveningI am not sure what happened I was in so much pain that I cried and had to take the vicodin I had and after an hour an a half it did not help I needed to do take a second. The pain was in my back and also in my abdomen, seriously I felt as if everything left inside was about to fall out. I guess i completely over did it.
Otherwise I have lots of pressure when I go to the washroom, I called me doctor today and am a waiting a call back. I wonder if i have a bladder infection although it doesn't burn it is a feeling of pressure and the pain in my back.
I dont know, however I think I really screwed up by doing so much and the pain that was tolerable isn't right now. I haven't gotten up much today and decided to leave the dinner dishes in the sink (which drives me crazy) and hang out in my bedroom today.
I am glad I found this site. The doc gave me Estradiol for hot flashes and it has helped although i do still wake up soaked. I also find myself pretty moody.
I do know that it will get better and that if i take the time and rest I will not take steps backwards as I believe is a result of this past weekend.
Thank you all for letting me share and i am glad i found you guys

11 days after surgery pain of overdoing
I had mine on Oct 2nd and had been feeling pretty good. I think I take that as a green light to do more than I should. I have been reading the posts of all the things that can go wrong when you overdue and that helped me slow down. Things such as adhesions could happen that wouldn't even be obvious till later. So try and rest and think more of taking care of yourself first-it will show in your recocery!
Hope you feel better!

11 days after surgery pain of overdoing
We are twins! I had my surgery on the 5th as well. Went in thinking it was going to be a LSH and in 2 hours I would have been in recovery. But 4 hours later and a LAVH it was done! They told my parents that I would be in recovery for about 2 hours and 5 hours later (no beds) they were taking me to my room.
I too overdid it this weekend and am paying for it the past few days. I don't think it is gas but my stomach feels likes it crampy on and off. Sometimes it is pretty severe. My bladder doesn't feel like it is emptying the whole way when I go and there is a lot of pressure when I go. I just thought it was because of all the "junk" inside was healing.
I did notice that I am taking more pain pills over the past few days then what I was taken. I guess we need to stay put, relax and take care of our self! Hope you feel better real soon.....

11 days after surgery pain of overdoing
Hey! I also had mine on the 4th. I was feeling real good until Monday. This weekend my dad came and we went shopping, out to eat, etc... On Monday morning I started hurting and by the afternoon it was killing me! I called the doctor and told her it felt like severe gas pains. Does yours feel like that? Well, today I am still huring bad, but the pain is different. It is nore like labor pains, and I even feel swollen down there! YIKES! I think we are doing too much. I a bad about that.
Would like to know what your pain feels like. I go to the doctor tomorrow.
Will write you back what she tells me.

11 days after surgery pain of overdoing
Hi...
I have a sharp pain more on the right side, it hurts so bad that if there is any pressure on that area (near my hip) then it will bring tears to my eyes. I too have felt like I had labor pains, however that seems to happen when I have to go to the washroom. I believe that is gas pains. I did not sleep very good, I woke up 3 diffrent times from the pain also to use the bathroom (which I completley dread!) I have an appointment this afternoon. I have also had alot of lower back pain so I think I may have a bladder infection. I think I expected too much. I had my right overy removed 5 years ago and I felt fine and was moving around after a week, I guess may I thought that was how this would be, even if the doctor said different. I feel like after all I had done last week I set my recovery back a few notches. I am also wondering if anyone else is as emotional as I am so not only do I have ups ans downs with pain I am on a major emotional rollercoaster. I dont know if that is from the surgery or from the lupron shot that was given to me before surgery. I had 6 months of lupron 10 years ago and only had hot flashes, not a big deal this time I had 2 doses and I was well a mess none the less. I drove myself to the doctor after work oneday without having an appointment ask her if I was crazy or if I was losing my mind. So I am not sure if these emotion are lingering from this shot or if it is from the lack of hormones from the surgery.
I will let you know what the doctor has to say, which by the way, i am absolutely terrifed of the examine that said I was going to need.

11 days after surgery pain of overdoing
well, I am back from my appt and the dr did not help too much. She said my apin probably is gas (she also said I could have a little stomach virus) and I also have some tenderness and swelling from the LAVH. I also told her that since yesterday I am having a little discharge - she looked at me and said I did not have an infection.
Basially told me to keep it EASY, eat easy to digest food, and take pain pills. Np new persciption or anything.
So - I am in bed and going to try to do NOTHING the rest of this week and see what happens.
Cant help you with the hormone thing - I was lucky - got to keep mine.
