An idea to pass the time

I think the worst of the waiting for me is just knowing there's nothing I can do to improve things. It's as if I'm just waiting for something to happen to me (which I am) instead of being able to work towards getting better.

I decided today I'm going to spend some of the time making a knitted shawl for myself. Hospitals are always so cold, and it'll be January so cool in the house as well when I get home. I started it this afternoon, and am feeling a bit less anxious. At least I'm DOING something about helping myself feel better later. I don't seem to do that helpless wait thing very well.

Here's hoping that it gives me something to focus on, there's almost 3 months to go.... eek.

waiting is the hardest part --
but here might be an idea or two --- please nothing offensive meant -- just suggestions.

cooking and freezing meals at this point would have you stocked by the time your surgery gets here -

take time to get in shape --

find a book or two that you want to read

read this website -- there is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much information

be strong
be good to yourself

An idea to pass the time

I have started a pre-op supply list so I don't forget the wonderful suggestions I read. Also, a doctor question list and list of things I want to do to get the house "recovery-ready". Mine is in Jan, 2008 too, and I'm a planner. I'm glad I have the time to get my mind, body, family and house ready. My kids have never seen me down for more than a day, so I'm trying to lessen the impact for them. DH is absolutely fabulous so he'll pull up the slack without hesitation. I also am an avid reader so I've started my book searches to stock up on plenty reading material.

Yah, the waiting sucks.

i had a 2 month wait, down to 2 weeks. Im pretty sick whilst waiting, so cant do much, but i have enlisted help to get the house VERY organised! My pantry is easy for others to use, my house is sparkling, and im doing my christmas shopping too, that kills time.

good luck to all
