Hospital bills!

I just got an "informational" bill from my hospital on what the total cost of the hysterectomy was!

It was around $24,000!! WOW!

I just hope that my insurance pays way over half or more.

Has any one else got a bill? Did your insurance pay a lot? What was the total cost that you had to pay?

Hospital bills!

My hospital said they were billing my insurance company $15,800+. I was in two nights. I don't know what the breakdown on that is yet. So far the doctors have billed my insurance about $5000. Not sure what's left to come.

Hospital bills!

I haven't received a bill as I have medical insurance, but I would have loved to have seen what the total charges were. I had a TAH/BSO with a two night, three day stay in a private room at the castle and I'm sure it wasn't cheap. I did have to pay a $100 copay at the time of my admission though. The copay was the only portion of the total cost that I was responsible for paying. Thank goodness for good health insurance! I have no idea what I would have done without it!

Hospital bills!

I received the informational bill from my hospital today. It was $5800. That was just for the charges at the actual hospital. I still haven't seen the bill for the anesthesiologist (sp) or my OB/GYN.

Hospital bills!

The hospital billed me $19,000 for my 3-day, private room stay (they have only private rooms), use of the O.R, nursing care, etc. My insurance paid them a negotiated amount--$5,800.

The total bill, including two surgeons, anesthesiologist, etc, so far, has come to about $28,000. My insurance has paid a negotiated amount of $8,600. I paid $0 because I'd rolled over unused health plan balances from prior years to pay my maximum out-of-pocket, which is $1,200.

Still waiting for the bills relating to care for my incision opening up 10 days after surgery. That'll add another $1,000 or so.

Hospital bills!

I have a great boss that gives us a great insurance policy. I didn't have to pay anything for my LAVH BSO. The surgery with all the other "stuff" was over 25,000 , not sure what my insurance company actually paid. Anyway...thank goodness for great insurance.

My surgery was $51,000.00, I thank God had to pay about $800.00, then months down the line I received bills from collection companies from the anesthesiologist . I called and said how can you send me to collections when I nor my insurance have ever received a bill, they corrected it. Then months after that I received another collection bill from the lab. once again I called them and they submitted to the insurance and sent me a corrected bill. By the way it was a hystersister, not the hospital who told me who I could expect bills from. I hope your insurance is at least a good as mine.

God Bless you,
