On-Q painbuster

Had the pre-op appt. and discussed the usual, I explained my fear of waking up to terrible pain. Doc explained he uses On-Q painbuster, catheter with 5 days of medicine placed in the incision, actually numbs the incision. He explained this way, no need for all the painkillers than can cause the constipation that I can and usually am troubled with. Also said he does the bikini cut and since I'm about 70 pounds overweight will be slightly higher than the usual cut and maybe just a bit wider. All the way around, it really eased a lot of my fears.
The Go-lytely I'm certainly not thrilled about but I guess I'll have to live with that, any suggestions on how to make it go down better.
To the ladies on this site, I don't think I would have made it without you. Thanks,

On-Q painbuster

Since I didn't have an external incision, I didn't use the On-Q painbuster, but some women around here have used it and hopefully, someone will stop by and share their personal experience with you.

In the meantime, I searched On-Q and found some threads that discuss it:

Hope this helps!

On-Q painbuster

I did have the on Q pain meds but that was in addition to oral pain meds. My doctor never told me it was instead of oral meds. It helped keep the incision area numb however it does not stop the internal pain. I think it worked great for the incision area but I still needed pain meds. you might want to ask you doc about that. Good luck!
