I asked my doctor about it and she said you have lots more healing to go through and if you can't wear jeans or pants with a waistband and zipper, don't - until it doesn't hurt.

I have bought a couple pair of Spanx underwear and they give wonderful support. I went out and bought stretchy pants this weekend to wear to work until this goes away. Didn't make me happy and I'm convinced I'm going to be on "What Not to Wear" real soon.

Cubfan - I am envious of you - I had a big fibroid too and thought I'd wear my pants right away...
I do understand about the skin thing! I think I will probably end up with the granny stretchy pants also. It will be hard enough to go back to work but in uncomfortable pants it would be much worse so if we have to we have to. My daughters have been telling me I was a candidate for What not to wear in my regular clothes for years anyway!

I completely understand what you mean about the skin thing! I will probably end up in the sretchy granny pants also. It will be hard enough to return to work but in uncomfortable pants it would be impossible. So if we have to we have to. My daughters have been telling me I am a perfect candidate for What Not too Wear for years in my regular clothes anyway!

Silly Abdomen/underwear question!

One of the ladies in my office had a tah last year. I was back at work and really suffering - panties, pantyhose, pants, seatbelts and sitting all really irritate.

Now on her suggestion I tried thong underwear.... really... lol! I find that they are very light and sit under my incision. MUCH more comfy. And I wear dresses and NO pantyhose. Or very loose pants.

I am end of 3 months and still sore. Heard it takes quite awhile.

Silly Abdomen/underwear question!

Yes I too can relate to what I have called my "underwear issues". 1 year later still can't wear my fav bikini underwear. It would sit exactly at my scar line & by the end of the day I would be irritatingly uncomfortable. Refused to buy "granny" underwear - I had just turned 40!!!! Friend recommended "boy short" underwear. Bought a few plain ones first and fell in love with them! Went on shopping spree buying different types. Haven't missed my old biknis since. My significant other even looks at me some days & says how comfortable I look wearing them. Don't be afraid to buy different ones to find your comfort level. Buy the really pretty ones that you like. Especially when you remember that you won't have to worry anymore about ruining them from excessive bleeding accidents every month!!

I also love the boy shorts, I was wearing them preop, I bought some a size bigger this week and now I love them again. I forgot how comfy they are. I got some at Target, their brand that are a nylon/cotton blend and they hold my tummy.

Never thought I'd feel so passionate about my undies!
