Surgical menopause symptoms

Anyone out there have almost immediate surgical menopause?
I'm having hot flashes, night sweats, headaches and trouble sleeping. I tried black cohosh and it made my chest feel funny.
Anyone else dealing with these and what are you doing?

Surgical menopause symptoms

Kelly,

I just had my TAH/BSO last Monday (8 days ago), and feel nothing except PAIN!

I have been having night sweats, but that's nothing new. Had those for the last two years anyway.

I was just sitting there last night waiting and wondering when it's all going to hit!

Surgical menopause symptoms

Good News! The pain gets so much better! Tears hit me on day 8 when the Dr's office messed up my paperwork for my job. Then I had some bowel issues but those have passed. Cold packs on the belly helped me for the pain. The chillow covered my entire belly and wasn't "icy" but a nice cold feeling.I hope you start feeling less pain soon!

Surgical menopause symptoms

Just had my 3rd operation...I thought I was over all this, the last 2 times. This time they took all I had left, my right ovary. I have been so moody, crying, angry, sad, iserable, sweating, freezing....It has just been terrible. I do believe that it is menopause and I too would like to know what I am suppose to do. I have asked my boyfriend whom I love with everything to leave. Don't even remember what he said that made me so angry, but I am sure it wasn't worth my response. I have been wearing the patch since Saturday it doesn't seem to be doing anything, but then again I am just 5 days post op.

Surgical menopause symptoms

I had a TAH/BSO on June 28 and started noticing hot flashes/night sweats within a couple of days. I'm still having them, but they're not severe and don't last more than a minute or two. Now that the weather is cooling off, they are even easier to deal with. (Although if I had a husband/partner, I'm sure he'd be annoyed with me kicking off and then putting back on the covers all night long! LOL)

I had trouble sleeping at first, but that got much better after the first few weeks. I think most of my sleep issues were from having to sleep on my back until my incision healed. Once I could curl up on my side again, I was much more comfy.

I won't be taking any HRT (my hsyt was due to early stage endometrial cancer, which is estrogen-fed), but so far, I don't feel the need for any. My Dr. is very much in favor of no treatment except daily calcium supplements.

Yes, earlier I googled my achey scalp and headaches and got that I had tension headaches. Mine only affects the right side of my head. Advil, Motrin and Tylenol do nothing!!! This has to do with hormones. I didn't have it before surgery.

Surgical menopause symptoms

I am almost 4 weeks post op. They took everything. I have had night sweats, hot flashes, trouble breathing, headaches and trouble sleeping and feel like there is a lump in my throat since the start. They started me on the .05 V Dot which did nothing. They just upped it to .1 so I am hoping it will help. I am so miserable. I am just praying this gets better soon.
