I think I remember reading somewhere that headaches can be a symptom of menopause...............

I too have been having headaches almost daily since my surgery, plan to ask doctor about it next week at post-op.

take care ladies.

I sort of lurk around here since my TAH/BSO on Sept 21st. I too have been having headaches practically everyday since my surgery. Went for my 6 week post op today, but the Doc was delivering a set of twins, so one of the nurses took a peek at my incision. I mentioned to the nurse about my headaches and she said "Welcome to Sudden Menopause!" and sauntered off. I am fearful of the HRT's because of a history of breast cancer in my family. I guess I will just take some OTC pain killers and wait until I can actually speak to my doctor next week. I am glad to see that I am not alone in this annoying symptom. Maybe I will give Estroven a try. Good luck to everyone in their recovery!

re: headaches

The Excedrin for Migraines helps alot.. I'm nervous about taking estrogen due to cancer in my family. I've had the night sweats and the hot flashes but they only last a few minutes. When I told the doctor about it he said we weren't going to try HRT unless it became unbearable. So I guess I will continue to stick my head in the freezer a couple times a day and wake my husband in the middle of the night to tell him "I'm hot" haha. Not the kind of "hot" he'd like but what the heck!!

A Headache AGAIN!!!

Thank you, thank you for these posts! I am exactly 3 weeks post op from FAH and having terrible headaches with sinus! I've been on doxycyline for 9 days and no change! No HRT for me because of family history of cancer and have started the hot flashes and insomnia. The worst part is, I can't seem to concentrate on anything! Going into this I was sure I was going to be the exception to the menopause rule, but wow, was I ever wrong. I just keep thinking, 'if only I could get a good night's sleep..." Everyone says it just takes time...but how long??
