Ok so when they took out my uterus......

not only that , but I kept dropping things too - just when I couldn't bend at all! It did get better, but when I'm tired i still get forgetful. This is really major surgery - I think it takes a bigger toll on us than we ever imagined!

Ok so when they took out my uterus......

Yup, got it here, too! Doesn't seem to matter how rested I am, how much coffee I drink, nothing helps!! I find myself 3-4 times a day stopping mid-sentence and just staring at the ceiling like an idiot. I am sure my co-workers are getting quite a laugh out of it, but I find it tremendously frustrating. In the last 6 weeks, I'd swear I've gone through enough post-it notes to cover a small country!

Ok so when they took out my uterus......

After nine months, it hasn't gotten any better. The other day I was going to the grocery store, and hubby told me to check on something. When I got inside the grocery store, I was like what was I suppose to get for my DH. Boy did we get a laugh when I called him and he said he wanted me to drive by his job site down the road from the grocery store. DUH! A few days after I was at the doc, and for the life of me I couldn't remember the Doc's name. DUH!

The only way to cope is to laugh at myself because if I cry I will forget what I was crying about.

Blessings to all!

Ok so when they took out my uterus......

I am experiencing the same thing. The other day I called my dog and she didn't come to me...mostly cuz I called her the wrong name. And I can't finish a sentence and dh gets exasperated with me. He's like..focus..finish a sentence. LOL. I'm at four weeks post op, perhaps this will go away. If not it's a good thing I'm blonde...I'll blame it on that!
Good luck!

I think it's wonderful to hear all of you saying the same things I am feeling--sorry to say that to you, but it is great to know I am not alone! I can't remember why I went to the store, I can't spell words, I can't think of the word I am trying to say, or patients names--the list goes on!

Staci, when I said something similiar to this to a man, he says to me, "Oh no, you can't use that, women do not think from that area of their body, only we men do!" What kind of a vacuum did they use on us!

's to all!

Ok so when they took out my uterus......

Does anyone out there know how long we can expect to experience the forgetfulness, being distracted by anything and everything? I am six weeks out and find myself forgetting stuff and getting side-tracked very easily. I am changing jobs in a couple weeks and scared to death I will look like an idiot!

Ok so when they took out my uterus......

I have been reading a lot about meneopause, and there is a term for it "verbal memory lost" its because our horm. are all messed up. HRT has helped a lot of people with this problem

Ok so when they took out my uterus......

I still have my ovaries and have been ovulating, I can feel the pain, it has a name. I can't remember it
So I know my hormones are the same as prior to surgery. I actually seem to have more . Ask my Dh.
It think my loopiness is a result of anesethesia.
