abdominal swelling and numbness two years post op?

I am surprised to notice how wide of an area which is numb on my stomach and abdomen after being two years post op. I knew by night I still have a little swelling, but all of the numbness really surprised and worried me. Is this normal? I had a full abdominal hysterectomy and also two infections, the last one also requiring surgery.

Anyone have similar problems so far post op?

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you. I think 2 years seems like a long long time. have you toaked to your dr?

Some degree of long-term abdominal numbness is fairly common, I'm afraid. I was told that it could take up to a year ~ if at all ~ for the nerves to repair themselves. At 2 1/2 years post-op I'm still numb and have seen many posts from other ladies who are the same.

If you're really concerned, it's always best to check with your doctor.

I am only 6 months but still have numbness, if your worried a quick call to your dr could ease your mind. My dad had total knee replacment surgery on both knees 2 years ago and the skin on his knees are still numb i guees some heal at differnt speeds. big hugs

Hey, all. I am 8 weeks post-op from full hysterectomy and i still look 4 months pregnant. maybe 5. It is gross, and massively depressing. How are you all doing with swelling or belly protrusion? Thx. Cozette
