Can't stay vertical more than a couple minutes....HELP!!
Yesterday was the first day I could say was a 100% good day. I woke up feeling good, went for a ride in the car, did a little bit of shopping, had a picnic in the car (I still don't feel like eating at a restaurant) and came home. Longest I've been out so far. And it felt okay.
Today I have tiny twinges in my belly but nothing like before. I'm a bit tired but not wiped out like in the previous weeks.
I really feel I've turned a corner and I'm finally improving. I'm still taking it easy but I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm sure this will happen for you all, too. Now watch, tomorrow I'll be in misery.
Hang in there!

While I agree with 'letting your pain be your guide', I think they mean while taking some painkiller?
I mean - you know how much it hurts without the meds. So take the pain meds and Take It Easy.

Thanks for all the responses!
You all are going to think I'm crazy, but I rode 90 minutes in the car yesterday to my parents' house, rested for a couple of hours, and then went to a Christian concert (I was able to prop my feet up and stayed sitting the whole time) and then rode 90 minutes back home this morning, and I'm actually feeling better. I don't have that sharp pain on my left side anymore - just a dull soreness of the whole abdomen which is actually way more tolerable.
HarleyRider & jacksonmarie - I know what you mean about not wanting this - my Doctor recommended this "H" years ago, but I SO didn't want any surgery I just kept telling her no. My last check up (Sept) showed a uterine fibroid the size of a baseball, and a complex cyst on my right ovary almost as big, so I finally gave in. When they got in there they also found out I had advanced endometriosis - it was EVERYWHERE! I'd been having pain off & on for 5 years but I kept thinking it would eventually go away (duh!). I still wish I didn't have to have surgery, but now that it's done, I'm trying to make the best of it and look on the bright side - hopefully no more endometriosis pain (I'm hoping they got most of it), I'm on bio-identical hormones so I'm feeling pretty even-keeled, and (the best part) no more periods!!!
Arly3 - you're right - I went ahead and took a percocet yesterday, and one today and am going to take it easy all day today.
LSH112 - I'm so sorry your ride yesterday caused you so much pain afterward. I know what you mean about being stir crazy!! Don't beat yourself up, though. I'm sure it didn't cause any lasting damage, and it gave you the information you needed about what is too much for your body right now. Next time maybe a 15 minute trip out would be good, and build up from there! I started this post because I just needed to hear someone say it will get better, and I'm hoping that encourages you too!
I'm so grateful for all of the responses! I hope everyone is encouraged as I am that it will get better and it is getting better! Blessings to all!

Can't stay vertical more than a couple minutes....HELP!!
Hi im also 13 days post op TAH/BSO and ive been thinking it was just me as well!! Im haveing problems standing and walking, i think i can manage about 3-4 mins standing before i get this pain where my incision is.
My hubby hired me a wheelchair from the red cross, it was great today, we went out shopping, it was handy to have the chair as i could sit after a few mins of walking. I feel a lot better after getting out and about for abit.
Its just a long recovery before anything normal can happen, but we will all get there in our own time.
