Sausage-shaped swelling?

Had TAH Oct. 9th. Feeling good. Does anyone have a "sausage" shaped swelling just above their incision? Seems to get worse by the end of the day. Will it go away? Help!!!!

Good Morning Mustang2! I have the same swelling. The dr said it was normal and will eventually go away. There is also information about this on this website. Look at the 3-4 week "Checkpoint". It describes the swelly belly too. I use soft ice packs every once in a while and it seems to help.

Yes I agree with northof49. I have same swelly sausage belly and at 3 weeks I have had no change. I don't think for me it is going anywhere fast.

My surgery was 9/11/07 (Abdominal/all but the cervix and they did a lot of cutting) and I still have a lot of swelling and pain by the end of the day. I won't take OTC meds as I know if I do I'll get up and keep going. I feel like I've been cut in two.

I was trying to find a good pair of supportive panties that I can wear with my lower cut jeans, as I just started back at work (PT, 4hrs/day) and by the time I get home I just want to sit on the couch. Thinking that may help with the pain/discomfort/odd feeling.
