Mild sedatives after surgery?
I'm nine weeks post op from a total abdominal/BSO. I have had had severe depression, which at first an antidepressant was tried. I still had severe symptoms and began having panic attacks when away from home. So I was put on a mild tranquilizer. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

i didnt have this problem but have read quite a few posts from other sisters that had increased panic attacks/anxiety after their surgery. hopefully once your hormones settle down, they will ease up. are you on hrt?

Mild sedatives after surgery?
[i]Yes, I am on Estrace 2mg per day. Maybe I just need to be patient and give time for the hormones to kick in. The worst part is the sleep loss! Ha Ha!

to you.... No, you're not alone.
It's quite possible that once your HRT kicks in all the way and your hormone levels are OK, you might be able to discontinue the other medication. But many (((sisters))) have been on various medications in the weeks and months following surgery.
I hope you're feeling better soon.
