Post OP Running and Sex
Anyone running post op yet? My doc released me to do "anything" (including sex) at 4 weeks following a TLH. That seemed a bit soon to me. I'm still too nervous to have sex right now but I'm happy to report I'm running again! I went on my annual family vacation last week (at my 6 week mark) and ran about 1 1/4 mile every day. The first day I ran only a little of it but felt fine. Each day after I've been running the full distance and to my great surprise have felt fine. I'm sooooo happy to be running again!
Wow, I just realized that I'm so excited about running and have pushed sex to the side for now. How pathetic is that?! But I was curious today in the shower I felt for where my cervix used to be. It feels like a puckered area and still pretty sensitive. I didn't feel any stitches though. At 6 weeks I'm sure they're all dissolved by now. I'm afraid sex is going to irritate it. Thinking about calling my doc tomorrow.
Anyone else still leery about having relations again? I've read most of the threads about post-op sex and it is reassuring. But anyone still sensitive at the now missing cervical area and gone for it anyway?
