bump. bulge, bubble???

Hi, I called my doc's office and talked with her nurse practitioner. She said that my bubble, bump thingy is probably nothing, but wants me to come in today at 2 pm. I didn't expect that response, but she said that it's best to check it out.

My bubble is about 1/2 inch above my incision on the left side. It goes down when I lie down. One person on here said that this is probably internal stitches coming out, on the inside.

I'll see my doc, though I might see the nurse prac.

Okay, well I'm having a bad day I guess.

My incision is so sore, just to even barely touch it. On the outside too. Discharge is awful, hasn't been this bad ever.

I just took a percocet, haven't taken one of those this early in the day in a long time.

Part of me says I just need to jump in the shower, fix my hair, put some makeup on and take charge. Maybe I'll do that this afternoon. Right now I"m just going back to bed.

I am totally confused with this site. I posted a question on 11/18 in reference to problems urinating after hysterectomy/Bladder surgery. Received 5 e-mails saying a response was made but I can't find them. Any ideas?

Dirtytoo, Welcome to the site!!! It's really amazing! Lots and lots of support from women that are feeling the same things at the same time! Feel free to vent, complain, or tell everyone how well you're doing!

I too have had an easy time. I had mine the same day as you and was back to work on a limited basis by Tuesday of the next week. I live alone so it's a good thing I had an easy time. Otherwise I would have been in big trouble!

Good luck and happy healing!

imcrazee-- find your posts

Hi, imcrazee,

I think this is your thread:

If you click on the link in the email, it should take you directly to your thread. Some email clients "turn off" links. If that is the case with yours, try copying the link and pasting it in a browser address bar.

If that doesn't work you can click on your username above your post in this thread (where it says "imcrazee" in big Blue letters) and you should get a little drop-down menu. Select See All Posts by imcrazee and that should get you to where you need to go.

Good luck!

Yes, urinating is very different for me too - I wouldn't say it hurts, but it is definitely a different feeling in my bladder, and sometimes uncomfortable. Sometimes I have to sit up really straight to make sure all of my bladder empties at the end. I too just had a bladder sling, and it feels like it's really up there tight now. It gets uncomfortable if my bladder gets really full too, and I have to work on Kegels so I can hold it until I get to the bathroom if I let it get too full. I have come a long way in getting my bladder function back and better, but it is definitely still different. I have attributed this to my cystocele repair and bladder sling.

Checking in...

Saw the doctor today for a follow-up. All is well, healing looks okay internally and he's pleased with the incisions on the outside.

He was surprised to hear that I wasn't driving yet. Guess I was being overly cautious on that front. So, now I have wheels again! Too bad I'm too tired to go anywhere.

I got a copy of the pathology report... very interesting stuff... uterus weighed 323 grams (a normal one weighs 100 grams) and there were two fibroids. (I only knew about one!) But, best of all, there was no sign of cancer or any other problem besides the fibroids. I wasn't expecting anything, but it's nice to have that confirmed.

And, I'm getting a cold, which may account for the tiredness. Or that may be from getting up at 6 am to be at the doctor's by 8 am. I normally get up at that time when I'm working but I've gotten in the habit of sleeping in.

Regarding the bladder stuff: I did not have any extra work done, but I did notice for the first week that it felt "different" which I attributed to things being moved around during surgery. It's not been painful, thank goodness. I'm sorry so many princesses are dealing with UTI/Bladder infections.

I went for my two week staple removal visit today. It actually went quite well. It didn't hurt - pinched a teeny bit a couple of times, but no big deal. The nurse practitioner actually scolded me for carrying my purse (it definitely weighs more than 5lbs) so I had my Dad carry it the rest of the time. She said that the incision seems to be healing well with no signs of infection. I also asked for copies of the surgery and pathology reports, and she pulled them right out of the folder and made me copies then and there. She also said that I can drive as long as I have had no pain meds for at least 24 hours before I get behind the wheel. Honestly, I so do not feel ready to drive yet. Hopefully, soon - missing my freedom.

Instead of a foley cath it is a cath that I put in my self at home to make sure my bladder is empty. It is way more comfortable since it comes out when i am done.My doc did not want to send me home with a foley since I hava had so many bladder/kidney issues in the past.We were trying to avoid infection but no such luck.I should get my culture of my urine back today.I hope that this antibiotic works. Please don't be afraid to call and ask your doctor if your bladder is not getting any better, a bladder is nothing to fool around with!Good luck and I hope that you are feeling better today!
