My discharge turned red today. Not at all like it has been throughout. I posted a separate thread about it, hoping to get some quick reassurance. I'm sure it's normal (almost sure LOL). If I weren't so sore inside, I wouldn't be so worried.

This has to be normal. I do everything normal. Everything. Not outstanding, not below standard, just always normal. Even my graduate record exams LOL.

But why all of the sudden red???

Joellen49,
that happened to me at the begining of the week and I freaked out real bad, beside the real red blood I passed a small clot. I posted and got some reassuring answers. They said it's the healing part of the surgery.
Hope you feel better soon

I must admit I'm so glad to hear some of you are having a crappy third week as well and I'm not alone?! I'm having more pains this week than I did in the first two. Yesterday was the worst, thought maybe I'd overdone it the day before so I took it easy. I was so uncomfortable, the burning / pulling / stabbing pains that ran up my pubic bone, where I thought my ovaries should have been, in and around the incision - it was just plain nasty.

Got myself into a right royal funk yesterday. My poor partner didn't know what to do. Pity Party... table for one.....

Mentally I feel a bit better today but the pains are definitely still there. Though I did just sneeze for the first time in 3 weeks about 5 minutes ago and survived.... so that's pretty awsome.....lol.....

Out of the blue query - anyone have any idea what they cut? I had it all taken out via the tummy and I've been wondering if they cut through any muscle, tendons or nerves?

Anybody have an idea?

Just shy of 3 weeks now TAH, and the pain/soreness around the incision is starting to subside. Although it is sore, I find tighter fitting underpants feel better than loose - so they dont rub. I also got one of those belly bands and it does seem to feel good with a bit of pressure holding it all in place.

Of to my sisters for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Don't have to do anything, and I am going to take full advantage of it.

I can tell everyone in my house it getting tired of me not doing my usual (everything). But I keep reminding my husband that I don't want to overdo and pull anything healing inside. (Helps that he works with a group of nurses who have told him how important the recovery time is - yeah ladies!).

Enjoy Your Turkey Day!

I know they cut through nerves because part of my incision is strangely numb. Numb and sore at the same time, that makes no sense to me. But that's the way it is.

So...I'm thinking I am completely finished with all this recuperating stuff. Went to my 3 week check up today. Everything looks great outside and I have zero pain there. She did a hand pelvic (no speculum). I wasn't screaming in pain but still OUCH!!!

She said I really shouldn't be in pain at this point and put me on antibiotics. When I went to wipe there was a tiny pin point of blood and I've been crampy ever since

I was so happy thinking things were going so well! I'm glad I didn't find this out having sex, lol.

I have had extensive leg surgery. On of the larger incisions, even though it's been 20+ years, it's still numb in one spot, but if I hit it on something, it hurts. It's a weird sensation!

different weeks seem to bring on different pain. I thought I got way too much pain meds. I asked my doc when I went for a one week check, if she thought I'd be in that much pain. She just looked at me ... yeah, yeah. She knew that I'd still be needing something for pain.

I haven't taken much. I did take a pain pill last night. I just couldn't go to sleep. I think it was that over do thing.

This evening I guess i had a hot flash or some sort of hormonal surge. I got cranky and tried to maintain myself. I drank some chamomille tea and that seemed to calm me a bit. It wasn't too bad, but just enough to get to me. I've had 2-3 of these episodes since surgery. I can handle that, I suppose.

I'm worried. Probably for nothing, I'm known to do that sometimes.

Why does this discharge have to be so red ? And it shows up wipe after wipe after wipe (sorry, TMI!!). And I'm so sore. I'm in the kitchen trying to make lemon bars for tomorrow and I HURT! All over my abdomen, left and right and bottom and all over.

Are we sure this is normal? I feel so far behind where I was last week. I don't understand !!!! I haven't been doing anything, except coughing. All day. For days.
