I'm going to my sister's for Thanksgiving tomorrow. She told me I didn't have to bring anything but I'm thinking about making a cake today.

3 weeks post op today I find it somewhat distressing that I'm as sore as I am.

I was talking to one of my guy friends last night. I asked my son if he would get me a cup of tea. I felt really bad last night, had just taken a percocet -- can you believe that? 3 weeks out ??? Anyway, my guy friend said to me, "Get your own cup of tea." I was somewhat taken aback by that and tried to explain but he said I was "milking it for all it was worth." That must have really upset me, I'm still thinking about it this morning!

Hope you're feeling better today, Littlebratt. I think it's going to be somewhat of a hard day for many of us? The day before Thanksgiving ... I feel like I should be doing much more than making one cake ?? But it will be a GREAT cake
What is your male friend talking about. That was an insensitive thing to say. The next time he has a cold or a hang nail. You can respond in the same way.

You're dong great. Happy Thanksgiving!

I am have numbness all around my scar above and below it. I also have numbness and what you described as weird sensation on my left leg. It is numb yet it hurts and if I am trying to itch something I can never seem to get to the itch.

Boy, it is so comforting to know that I am not the only one experiencing all these weirt things after surgery.

Hope all sisters have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

checking in (childbirth mentioned)

Happy Thanksgiving to all US princesses!
I'm thankful for all of you.

I too am finding week 3 more challenging than week 2. Of course, the head cold doesn't help. It's not as bad as JoEllen's (less coughing, more nose drip) but it has really zapped my energy. Find myself feeling sorry for myself more, which I don't like to do.

Numb scars: Well, I had a c-section 10 years ago and so I have a low (just above pubic area) horizontal scar. It is still weird: kind of numb, yet if underwear sits right on it, very uncomfortable. Logically, I don't understand-- if the scar is numb, then how can it be painful to have something pressing on it? But it is. I don't know if this is typical or not, but for those who had a TAH or TSH, you may have a similar scar.

I've done nothing today except set the table... planning on a post-meal walk, but that's it.

[b]Hi all,
I am almost 3 weeks post op. My surgery was on Nov 7th. I am feeling great. I like to keep it that way too. I have had a complete vaginal assisted laproscopic hysterectomy. Everything went, ovaries, fallopian tubes. They have a special name for it. Oopethectomy, or something like that. I was off the pain meds by the 3rd day. I used heating pad. Only bad thing was the first 3 days, all that gas. Wow! I don't do much of anything, hubby won't let me. I do wash a few dishes and walk around, work on my quilt. I don't nap during the day, but, I sleep fitfully at night. Waking maybe 1 to use the br.
I still do have trouble with passing stools. I have plenty of fiber and taking stool softners, but, I have problems passing the hemoroids.
I also have to say I had a bladder prolapse and had it pulled back up and tucked.
Have a good day

It seems like week 3 has challenges. I think we try to do too much and then boom, we just go back into pain.

Gee, those nerves, etc take a long time to heal.

I've been getting really tired and having more discomfort around 6 p.m. It seems like I have a hot flash about that time and then feel sick to my stomach.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Today and yesterday, I'm noticing that I'm not straightening up entirely when I walk. A little hunched over from the pain, mostly on the left side now. Geeze, I think it was the right side a week ago LOL Just goes back and forth I guess.

Should I try to straighten up, pull myself a little, get past the pain and just walk normal?

I am so discouraged at how much discomfort I still feel. And I'm not doing too much, really. Well, except the lemon bars last night maybe ?? I only have 5 percocets left and I'm sure the doctor isn't going to give me any more.

Week 3, I will remember Week 3. It was BAD. Here's to Week 4 .... please let it be better.

LOL -- anyone doing Black Friday tomorrow ??

Joellen, your dr may give you something else. For me the motrin wasn't cutting it at all, and he gave me something less powerful than the percocet but better than the motrin. I actually prefer it to the percocet.

I am not walking upright myself, too much pulling on the muscels. I think we shoud try for upright at least as much as possible. I am not sure why though

We are going on a road trip today. No huge crowds for me... I'd need to bring my squishy pillow to protect against the hordes of holiday shoppers. I'll go during the week sometime when its less crowded.

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving...

shopping day

I'm not sure whether to be sad or glad. My daughter and female inlaws have gone out today shopping. It's much quieter in the house, but I miss going out with them. I knew that I would be a hindrance and too slow. Also, crowds and I don't mix well, right now.

Odd, but I have felt lonely some days, but too many in the house feels crowded. Is this weird?

In some ways, I'll be glad to get back to work. In other ways, I just can't imagine being ready in less than 3 weeks.

I'm having a hard time thinking about going back to work in 3 weeks too. The long days, being on task all day, focused. Getting back to my regular sleep habits so I can get up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6AM, go all day.

Can't even imagine it. Maybe next week I'll try
