I know my doctor told me yesterday I'm stronger than I let on but really, I think I'm going to be one of the slow bouncer backers.

I went back to bed this morning, slept til way past noon. When I got up I had this sensation of a hand inside me squeezing something. My left side. It was the oddest sensation. Slow and rhythmic, not painful.

I have a small squishy pillow that I find helps dealing with the constipation pains when going to the bathroom.

I also find the more active I am, the more I hurt. I know its only temporary and that the pain I feel know will help me feel less pain later, but its a pain. I went out for a little bit today, and came home and took some motrin and a nice long nap.

Today has been strange day. I have been hurting off and on all day AND sleeping a lot. I am not sure what is going on but I hope I don't have an infection.

Still do not have much of an appetite but have been able to eat spme things.

My surgery went ok, was only 3 hours instead of 4. I ended up staying an extra night due to not being able to manage the pain I was in. I was completely miserable the day after surgery. I am still in a lot of pain. I take vicodin for the pain, but it doesn't seem to help me much. It never takes the pain all the way away. I still get real tired but not really resting till I go to bed. Probably not a good thing. I know that I am bored to death now too. I am used to working everyday. Now my days just drag on.

sherden24 - You are right to worry about infection - if your body tells you to rest (and sometimes even if it doesn't but you know you should) do so.

I thought I was doing just fine up until yesterday & here I am feeling like crap now. I have a brownish dishcharge and burning and feel feverish. I've been sleeping on & off all day - so I guess it caught up w/ me.

I did not think I was overdoing it physically (but maybe??) but I just talked to a friend on the phone who reminded me that mental stress can also wear you down. And I have had some personal "issues" lately that have been stressful. I know that I may still have gotten this infection anyway, but my body may have had a better chance of fighting it off if I'd have been less worn down.

So Ladies - try not to let anything (including worrying & too much stress) interfere with your recovery - it may be hard but try to just focus on yourselves for right now. You'll probably recover quicker.

Good Luck to you all!

I had PVH also on Oct 29, 2007. Kept only ovaries due to endo. I am doing really well, worry when i am actually free to do the things i feel like doing. I am still having some bowel issues, ouch!, will take the mirilax another few days while things are healing. I am sorry you are so sore from your repairs. My DR did not call mine prolapsed, it was tilted back, folded and dropped down on my tailbone, i called it a really bad back! I am hoping for a much more pain free life. I already feel so much better than i did it is scary!
I had a diagnostic lap 2 weeks before hyst and found alot of pain in shoulders as well. I found that putting a pillow or two under my hips to elevate them helped much. My DR told DH that was the position i was in during surgery.

Michelle-- sorry to hear about your infection. Hope the antibiotics work quickly!

amoreux-- no wonder you've been crying-- you have a lot on your plate.

Tracie-- I find it hard to stop during the day so I make myself lie down for a half hour after lunch & usually that turns into a nap for an hour or so. I think my body needs to extra rest.

JoEllen, I have held off on walking the dog until I get the okay from the doctor. She pulls quite a bit, and sometimes it can be sudden, like when she sees a squirrel or something... don't know how big your dog is but you might want to check in with the dr. before resuming the dog-walking. (My dog is only ~40 pounds but she can really pull when she's excited.)

(and a personal update)

Finally got out today - my MIL took me shopping at the mall - that was really fun. I put on real clothes and everything. (Well, a stretchy skirt.)

I started reading The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper. The movie is due out in the next month, I think. Reading makes the time go faster for me...

The big news of the day-- I had a BM and it didn't hurt! Sorry if this is
But who else but you all would understand?!?

I hope everybody is feeling better today.

Today I am feeling much much better. It's been one week, and I'm not too bad. The only complaint I really have is the pain when I have a bowel movement. I try not to over do it, I only walk a bit and rest a lot. I have been eating a bit more then I did the first few days. My oldest daughter makes me a lot of soups at night, sounds weird but it makes me sleep better. I can't get into any comfortable position, so I take any sleep I can get whether it's in the day or night. My lower back pain seems to have almost completely gone away! I hope all of you are doing better, and feeling well. Take care of yourselves , rest and drink lots of fluids.
