Post-Op Intimacy Issues

I am a "newbie" to both this site as well as the post-op effects of my TAH/BSO. I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at the age off 33, had my surgery on 6/20/07. I think I am suffering from sexual dysfunction?? Its completely a new grey area to me as I (before surgery) NEVER had an issue reaching climax, now after surgery, its near impossible. (I can reach by oral) Unsure if this makes it a "me" thing or if it truly is the dysfunction, Ive been researching Vaginal rejuvenation, but am just unsure. Does anyone have any tips / suggestions that have actually helped? Im so tired of my partner thinking it is him, that he cant satisfy me anymore, please help!!!

I imagine it is a problem with the whole hormones thing. Very complex. On this site there is a part for our males of the species. I THINK it is Mr. Hystersister. It has a wealth of good information on how to best help and understand. I also would be surprised if there weren't a spot o Hystersisters to find out some more details on your problems. Have you looked around and found anything yet. if you have been unable to find something, I will be more than glad to do some poking around on the site and see what I can find to point you towards. I know it is frustrating and needs a whole lot of understanding for both partners. Hang in there!!!

I am sorry you are going through this. There is a sexual dysfunction forum but I am not sure if you have to be 6 months out or not. Have you spoken with your doctor about this? I know I have a hard time talking to my doctor about these types of problems. Just try to talk to your partner about how you were operated on and it can take a while to heal all the way, sometimes a year. Remember that trying to hard and thinking about it to much doesn't help either. If oral works for you then just make him do that first Good luck and don't be so hard on yourself. You have been through a lot.
