Lesson learned the hard way!

Well Ladies I made a big mistake and I hope you all can learn from it. I was told to wait 8 weeks until intercourse. Well Sunday night I decided it was time. Monday morning I am in the operating room! I though since I was about 7 weeks out that it was healed enough since everyone else was ok at 6 weeks. Well in the middle of it I felt something like a rubber band snap and all of a sudden my tummy swelled up like crazy and my rear end hurt bad. I was bleeding and then a watery discharge. (sorry if TMI) I went in and my cuff opened up and my bowel was trying to get through. The watery discharge was the fluid in my abdomen leaking out. Now I am paying the price I feel like I am back at square one. I feel so stupid for this. I feel bad because they were looking at my poor DH like it was his fault when it wasn't. He was sleeping and I woke him up to surprise him. Now we have to wait at least another 8 weeks! My DH said well I guess it will be a happy new year. So ladies please take my warning and wait!

I am so sorry that happened. Don't be too hard on yourself. We all make mistakes. We're human. This is a good lesson for us to follow our doctor's instructions. They are for a reason. I hope you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear that you had such an experience.

I know sometimes we think drs are just putting us off -- but you are right -- we must listen to them for the stuff that we can not see.

My Dh -- kept asking -- " can we -- can we "

and i kept saying not till the dr looks --

I hope that everything heals for you

Oh Janelle, you poor thing!! I don't think you should blame yourself, as waiting another week might not have made any difference. I hope you feel better soon x

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about this. But, as everyone else has already mentioned, we have doctors orders for a reason and this, though so unfortunate for you, is a good lesson for the rest of us.

Thank you for sharing, and I hope you're feeling better very soon.

Man. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I'm only one week out and I know in my head i"ve been thinking.. "OoooH I won't have to really wait that long".

After reading this ? I guess I WILL have to wait that long. My post op isn't until December 2nd I believe?

I hope you are feeling better soon! Big hugs to your DH too! He must feel horrible!

Thanks everyone. I just feel stupid because I feel like a hypocrite. I always tell people to follow doctors orders and then I don't know what came over me. Maybe the two glasses of wine I had with my sister. ( I never drink) I just hope others will learn a lesson fromme.

How very scary for both of you. I hope you feel better soon. I have to wonder if maybe this was "just one of those things". Sorry you had to go through this.
