Anyone wear contact lens?
Been thinking of this........will I be able to wear my contacts during surgery and in the Castle? If not, that means my old granny glasses will need updated. I'm blind as a bat. Wow, there's another $300 expense. This is a costly little surgery here, I might have to SELL my uterus just to break even. ha

I wear contacts, and they told me not to bring contacts OR glasses to the hospital.

Anyone wear contact lens?
oh good grief, I hope that is not the case for me. I can't see 3 inches in front of my face. And if I can't see, I can't HEAR either (don't ask).

When i had my tubes tied last year they left my glasses on me till they took me back to prep for surgery. My honey took my glasses off me and he held on to them.

I cant hear with out my contacts or glasses either!! It makes not able to think. I need to make sure my glasses are in the recovery room. And they better not lose them.

Anyone wear contact lens?
Yes...but if you need glasses, then you need to have someone bring them to you. I guess the hospital doesn't want to be responsible for keeping track of personal items.

They told me no contacts in the OR. I could have put them on afterward, but didn't even bring them to the castle with me. You are in and out of it so much, sleeping so much, it's easier to just have glasses. I wore mine to the castle, can't see anything without them. DH took them for me when they brought me to the OR and had them waiting for me when I was brought to my room...............
Take care,
Christine

Anyone wear contact lens?
Definitely NO contact lenses during surgery and they will make you give your glasses to a friend or family member for safe keeping (likely until you are out of recovery and in your room). The preop checklist I got from the hospital says to bring "eyeglasses and a case to protect them (do not bring contact lenses)".

Anyone wear contact lens?
My preop checklist states eyeglasses, no contact lens. It is easier to wear eyeglasses because you are in and out. You sleep alot.
