How Much Sitting Is Too Much During Early Post-Op Weeks?

I didn't sit much the 1st week, but I did get up and walk around. I did learn something about sitting in a recylner though. Make sure if you prop up the leg rest, there is someone there to put it down if its too hard for youto do it. It really hurts . And you use your stomache muscles to do it. I remember I was stuck in that darn reclyner for about a half hr. while my hubby was up at the store. Funny story, but not so funny. Alot of pulling when you trying and put the foot rest down. Be careful and watch out for the killer reclyners!!!! lol

Thanks for the warning. I've avoided the recliner in my family room for just that reason - I can hardly get up out of it when I haven't just had surgery! I have a smaller, more cooperative recliner in my bedroom that I sit in - the foot rest on it will go up or down if I just gently push the handle on the side.
I hope your husband didn't laugh when he got home - at least he was only gone for half an hour. I can picture myself getting into that situation when my husband has gone downtown for the day, or someplace like that :-)

Take care,
Linda
