unusual fear

Well, Monday I will be having a TAH outside of the US. Yesterday I read a newspaper article saying that there are possibly increased negative feelings toward Americans here. This leads to my latest fear - that the people who are operating on me, and putting me to sleep, will not be very motivated to do a good job. From what I read many really do hold US personally responsible for the decisions of the American gov, and can get quite upset with US about these things.

I know my life is really in God's hands - please just pray that my faith stands firm. Fear is one of the largest strongholds in this country, and, even tho I am not a naturally fearful person, I have been plagued by anxiety attacks for the past 4 years. I really want to get victory over this and be a good testimony of God's power (displayed in a weak person!).
Thank you for praying for me.
Lori

(((Lori)))
I can understand your concerns and how you might be dealing with fear in your situation. I will be sure to pray for you and believe with you that God will watch over you and keep you safe through your surgery and recovery.

Jesus, we thank you that you've promised never to leave us or forsake us. We can count on you being there with us when we pass through a difficult time. I pray for Lori that you'll help her to feel your presence, to know you are close at hand and are aware of her fears and ready to take care of any threat to her well-being.

Watch over her as she goes into the hospital and charge your angels to be there with her, protecting her and personally seeing to her needs. Guide the surgeon's hands and use this surgery to bring healing to her body and also to show her your great love and care for her.

In this time of weakness we ask you to keep her strong in her faith and focused on you. Give her caring people in the hospital and bring her safely home. We ask this in your precious name. Amen.

Here are several verses out of Psalm 91 that I think are very applicable to your situation. If you have a favorite verse that brings you reassurance, I would suggest you memorize it and use it whenever you are afraid. God's word is our belt of truth, part of the armor He has given us to stand against the enemies attacks. Even when we are weak, He is strong and He will take up for you, you can count on it.

"If you make the most high your dwelling- even the Lord, who is my refuge-then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

'Because he loves me,' says the Lord, 'I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Psalms 91:9-16

Keep your eyes focused on the Lord, He will be there for you and we are praying. I'll watch for you in post op.
's, Rita
