almost 4 weeks and still loose bowels

I am almost 4 weeks, had the robotic assisted surgery. My questions is it normal to still have such loose bowel movements? It is getting to be a pain in the butt(no pun intended). Sometimes I can't tell the diffence if it is gas or I have to run to the bathroom. Is anyone else like this?

Hi Cruella: I am almost 5 weeks (LAVH on 10/2/07) I had the same problem until last week. Then it really settled down this past week. Make sure you are eating high fiber fruits like apples and foods like yogurt. That helped me a lot.

Hi! I had robotic assisted surgery on 10/11/07 for cervical cancer. Do you know if there are many of us on this site? I didn't get too much post-op info and was wondering if there is a standard for this kind of surgery cause it really is different from the others. My bowels are good but the gas can still stop me in my tracks. I'm back to work, but the job is fairly sedentary.
Also, this is my first time writing here and I don't know the ropes yet. Thanks for listening!

I had the robotic assisted surgery also for cancer. You are right it is a different kind of surgery and the recovery may be a little different. I am more than willing to answer questions you may have if I can, since I am a little farther out than you.

Thank you for the replies... I am glad to see some of you with the robotic assisted surgery. Brings me to another question. Is anyone having a lot of trouble with the scars healing? The one above my belly button is still extremeley painful. Also, I thought the rebotic was suppose to be quicker, my surgery took 4 1/2 hours.

Well, no robots here , but I'm going nuts with my loose bm's if I must say so! I'm almost 3 weeks post-op, and I can barely get my kid's lunch packed in the a.m. 'cause the minute my feet hit the floor, I get "the" feeling. It's very depressing...especially since my hubby wonders why I keep asking him to buy baby wipes when there are no babies in sight! LOL
