anyone know of a good vulvar specialist in Nebraska?

I am having contant clitoral throbbing and vaginal irritation, burning sensation since 2 weeks after my TAH. I have been tested for urinary tract infections, yeast infections, and bacterial infections. All test come back fine; showing no infection. I've been treated for yeast infection, urinary infection, and had a urethra dialation. Nothing has helped. I was treated for these infections incase I had them and they were not showing up on the tests.
I have also tried Premarin and Premarin cream--did not work. I am now on Enjuvia and also using vaginal cream Estrace, plus a topical ointment called clobestasol cream. I feel suicidal from this ongoing throbbing and am truly considering suicide if the symptoms don't abate. I am also seeing a counselor, (I think my doctor that sent me there thinks it's all in my mind). The counselor has prescribed Neurontin for nerve ending pain in the vagina. I am so miserable. Can anyone help me. Does anyone know of a specialist in Nebraska that can treat this type of disorder? My Gyn is clueless as to what is causing this, but said perhaps a nerve got irritated or damaged during surgery.
Please help. Westielover

I just wanted to write and tell you that I experienced the same symptom as you describe, only on a much smaller scale. It was disconcerting to say the least! I felt like I was ***** and since I went through menopause 5 years ago, I had to laugh and tell my husband. I am not making light of your misery, just trying to be of some comfort. It's logical to think that a nerve was bumped during surgery, and also, standard procedure for sewing us back up is to make the vagina small and tighter. I think all this contributes to a sexual feeling, and I can tell you that at least in my case, it's slowly going away. I wish you the very best and would give anything to help you trust your body to heal and believe that this symptom will gradually go away. I'm glad we have this group to talk to and not feel judged.

I'm so sorry you're continuing to have this problem.

I know you say you're having counseling at the moment, but please don't hesitate to contact 911 immediately, or go directly to the ER, if you cannot cope and continue to have those thoughts.

Just a quick reminder that naming doctors is not permitted (as per the TOS) and so, if anyone does have a suggestion, perhaps this could be made via a private message or email. It may also be worth taking a look at this website <link> Suggest A Doctor to see if you can find a recommended doctor in your area.

I do hope you're able to find answers and relief very soon. Take good care of yourself.

Have you by chance had your testosterone levels checked? Genital swelling, throbbing and vaginal irritation are side affects I have experienced when my testosterone levels were too high.

I agree that if you have ANY thoughts of suicide you need to call a suicide intervention, 911, or go to an ER immediately. They will be able to help you.

I hope you feel better soon.

Yes. I had a TAH with an A&P repair, plus they took out a large smooth muscle tumor I didn't know I had.

Enjuvia is testosterone. However, sometimes our adrenal glands can make too much testosterone. It might be worth a try to find out.
