Acne Post-Surgery

I'm 9 weeks from my TAH (and both ovaries) and on Paxil for my hot flashes. Over the last couple weeks I've developed acne on my face, especially on my nose. It really looks horrible and I can barely cover it with makeup. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a side effect of the Paxil or the removal of the ovaries? What did you do to get rid of it? I've also noticed my skin on my neck and chest is rougher than it used to be. Has anyone gone to their doctor about this or should I just buy Clearasil?

I'm 7+ weeks and still have pronounced acne - not on paxil, just hormones (estradol & progesterol) I thought it would go away too. Somewhere I got the notion that the testosterone hormone was causing the acne...but I'm not taking any of that either. My cleanser and Vit A regime isn't helping, although I do have less acne than before surgery. I would appreciate any more information too!!

Acne Post-Surgery

I've been suffering from acne for years, and in fact, had my ovaries removed along with the TAH 'cause of cysts which I thought may be the acne problem.

Well, here I am almost 3 weeks post op, and my face looks horrible. It's breaking out as much as ever, and now I'm wondering if I should have had the BSO after all.

Acne Post-Surgery

Hi ladies

I have suffered with acne all of my adult life, I never had it as a teen. I actually asked for them to take my ovaries to help with this but they would not as I am only 34 and there is nothing wrong with them. But my acne is a lot worse since my hyst but only appears to be my face that has worsened. So maybe its just because of our hormones being all up an down and maybe, just maybe it will clear up for all of us soon - here's hoping!

Take care everyone.
