Hit the wall.....

I am just short of 8 weeks post-op, and have hit an emotional wall. I am feeling good physically, but emotionally I am a mess. I cry at the drop of a hat. I had a TAH/BSO, but have been on .05 mg Estradiol since a couple days after surgery. I realize that my natural hormones are still in flux, and that it's too soon to start tweaking the prescription. Other than the emotional upheaval, I haven't had hot flashes, night sweats, and have been sleeping reasonably well. That makes me wonder if this is hormonal or just the other stuff that's going on in my life. I have been back to work since 1 1/2 weeks post op, am going to be changing jobs this next week, boyfriends mother was just diagnosed with cancer, boyfriend doesn't understand the emotions post-op etc etc etc. Any suggestions so I can keep my sanity? (The boyfriend isn't interested in reading info, either. I tried that BEFORE the surgery!) Thanks for letting me whine!!

Hit the wall.....

I'm so sorry you are having all these emotions! You have a lot going on and are still recovering from your surgery. I remember reading that it can take the body 6 months or longer to completely recover from a hyst, plus you have the HRT stuff to smooth out. Your doctor can help you figure out if the medicine needs tweaking. Somtimes though, when there is a lot going on with life in general, it gets overwhelming. I had that happen a few years ago and went to a counselor for a few months. I tend to have a bit of a controling personality and felt like things were getting too out of control.

Lots of s to you during this time. You aren't alone and we are always here to listen.

Hit the wall.....

Kay...

I am so sorry you are going through all of this.... no wonder your emotions are "frazzled"... You've been through a lot (back to work at 1 1/2 weeks!) and now all of this other stuff going on.... Bless your heart!

I'm several weeks behind you in my recovery, so can't speak from experience here... just sending you a word of encouragement....

Please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers..... May you over this emotional meltdown with renewed strength and peace in the midst of your circumstances.... and may those around you be a source of encouragment and consolation.
