This is the worst I have felt

{{{{{JoEllen}}}}} What helps me more than anything is to lie down and relax my whole body with relaxation exercises I learned before my surgery. I find that from the pain/discomfort and just plain aggravation of being "down", I keep my abdomen and pelvic area clenched, and my body stiff and tight. I find that I'm much more likely to pass gas, and to have a BM when I'm relaxed and don't get myself tied in a knot. If you don't have relaxation exercises/tapes, maybe listen to some really relaxing music once or twice a day.

Here's to better days ahead!!

This is the worst I have felt

Thanks everyone! Gosh, I had forgotten that I posted this, it was very early on post-op, I think like 5 days? I'm now almost 2 full weeks and I feel alot better. Except I've caught a nasty bug and I'm coughing and sneezing alot. Sneezing is definitely the worst.

I've got the constipation under control, and the gas for the most part also. Was thinking about cutting back on the stool softeners now. What do you think? Too early? I'm still very sore inside with pressure and certain movements.

I take only one percocet a day now and that's at the end of the day and only because after all the sneezing and coughing, it does seem to help. Otherwise I just take ibuprofen when I need it.

I can't wait to get over this bug and see how I feel then! I think I'm ready to return to work part time from home in another week.

Way too soon for sex yet, I can tell that. I don't have a partner so no rush there, for me. ha ha. I have my ovaries, no night sweats so I think I'm okay on the hormones. I think. So far anyway.

Thanks again everyone. It's great to be over the worst of this though now it's the challenge of staying within my limits even though I may feel like I can do more.

This is the worst I have felt

Joellen, I stopped the stool softner right away and just went with the prune juice and dried aprociot route (thank you by the way for reminding me) Some days I really could use the softner piece if you get my drift?

I hope you feel better soon, I have a slight cough and I have to hold my stomach when i need to cough.

This is the worst I have felt

Oh SummerSurfer, I do hope you're not getting sick like me. That's how it started with me, a little nagging cough. Tis the season I suppose but it sure has cast a whole new dimension to my recovery. When you need to cough, try bending over your knees, from a sitting position, as tight as you can, and then cough. That was the only way I got through the worst of this bug.

Hope it's just a little thing and it passes quickly!

Yeah, I'm very not sure about stopping with the stool softeners. Definitely get your drift ha ha. Maybe I'll wait another week yet.

This is the worst I have felt

Joellen, that maybe my favorite position for many things bending over my knees from a siting position Very helpful for everything that involves movement of those ab muscles...

I think the cough is just related to the cold dry air we had the other day here . I dont feel sick, just ouchy! (my new favorite word by the way, i utter it undermy breath alot)
