yesterday afternoon I had the worst of pain in my left side. It felt like I could not get my breath and that I needed to pass some stool. Well I did and it helped to alliviate some of the gassy/nausea pain. I took some tylenol and went to bed with the heating pad. I woke up this morning feeling a bit better, but then again this afternoon I had a bad headache and feeling crummy in the stomach. Sort of like I wanted to vomit but, did not. I am 3 weeks post op today. I just saw my dr yesterday and he said I was healing nicely and to keep taking it easy.
Is this normal to feel nausea 3 wks post op after having felt good the last two weeks?

I have different pains this week at 3 weeks out but nothing major enough for pain pills.
I even walk different again LOL a litle slower again I woke up sleeping on stomache other night though and that did probably stretch out new muscles
silly my want to make sure I don't do that again

I don't think blood from the rectum is normal...it depends on how much, was it from an irritated hemorrhoid or did you have a hard bowel movement to irritate and cause this?...I would monitor it and if it becomes a lot or continues I would see my doctor. Happy healing to those at three weeks! Jo

not feeling 2 good

I'm on week 3 after my TAH and I am feeling a little more uncomfortable pains around there. I am feeling exhausted all the time. I decided to treat myself to some new pj's yesterday and tried to go shopping. I wound up exhausted. I can't sleep much again. I can't sit too long, I can't lie around too long, and I can't walk too long. Is this normal? Now my doctor says I can't go back to work until at least my full six weeks are up. Has anyone had to stay out longer than the six weeks?

I have little pains in my abdomen sometimes in the evening when I'm lying in bed but that's about the extent of my problems at the moment (except for my swelly belly...I still have that too).

Other than that, I'm going back to work on Monday. I have a desk job so the doctor said if I felt up to it, I could go back. I sure don't look forward to getting up at 4:45 in the morning, that's for sure!

3 weeks, 3 days post op - feeling great!

Hi all,

I just wanted to say that there's hope. Today I feel very good (so far). Yesterday I felt good in the morning, but had to stay in bed in the afternoon. I was feeling so depressed because it seems like I will never get over this, but today I don't feel so much like my lump of rocks in my stomach is so heavy. Of course, I'm not going to overdo it, just enjoy the feeling. Next week I am planning to go back to work for the mornings only and come home for the afternoons. I own my own business and mostly work at my desk, so I should be able to carry it off.

Good luck to everyone in recovery! Hugs, Karen

Nov. 6 TAH, took everything. I'm going to be 50 next Wed.

Has anyone besides me not had spotting, bleeding, or discharge yet? I'm almost to 4 weeks and nothing. I'm beginning to worry.

Very sore and have a bit of a swelly belly this morning. I guess sitting in a rock hard folding chair for 3-1/2 hours listening to middle schoolers recite language arts pieces will do that to you. Should have made my husband sit through it!

I still have no energy. I can't even imagine going back to work at this point. An hour shopping yesterday with my daughter and I was so exhausted. I can't even begin to imagine Christmas shopping!
