Susan, I am on the V-dot patch and everything seems ok. I have a friend that is on bio hormones and she is very pleased with them. The V dot is bio hormone from plant. I am going to the doctor monday to have my staples taken out. So I am going to ask is he can draw my blood to see where my hormones are. I live in Knoxville, Tennessee and we have a doctor here who does the bio hormones.
Sounds like you and I had the same problems during surgery. I fell so much better. I am still tired and not eating alot. I am more concerned about when I can get back into the gym. I have lost 30lbs and do not want to put any of it back on. Get to feeling better soon.

Whew! I had my SAH on 11-7-07 and feel pretty good! I haven't had to have a lot of pain meds, but my upper arms and neck are sore. I feel like I've got a new lease on life. My doctor was amazed I wasn't going to the bathroom as much as I was. She said there was barely any room for my bladder. Also had fibroid putting pressure on my back and my ovaries were "stuck" to the back of my uterus. I was able to keep my ovaries and uterus - YEAH!!!!! The doctor even took pics of my uterus because I wanted to see it. Very interesting....

Anyway, walking seems to help alot. Hope everyone else is feeling fine. Thinking of everyone! Talk to you later.

I'm Home

I am back from my trip to the castle. I agree with all the other ladies, waiting was the worst part.

I had to be at the hospital at 6am and my TVH started at 8am and was DR was out talking with my DH by 9:30am. I woke up in recovery at 10 and I was in my room by 11am. Boy did the morning go by quickly because I kept falling alseep.

I had a pain pump but didn't use it very much. My pain wasn't that bad. I got to walk around thrusday afternoon which was nice to get everything moving. They took the pain pump, cath and packing out friday morning. So glad to have the cath and packing gone. Then I got to take a shower.

DR checked in on me friday morning and said I could go home by afternoon since I was doing so well. She confirmed that everything looked good and the TVH went smoothly. DR did a RSO but left the left ovary since it looked good.

So now I am home and resting. Still not lots of pain just some muscle bruising today. I know that will feel better as the days go by.

Well back to bed for some rest.

I was scheduled for a LAVH-BSO on Thursday morning but once the surgeon saw the extent of endo and scarring, she opted for a TAH. I was told this was a possibility, so waking up with a big incision didn't entirely throw me for a loop. I came home today (Saturday). I am dealing with a lot of headaches and achiness, also very dry and itchy from the oxy.
I am able to move around alright, and I'm pretty sure I will have to pace myself for a good while before I'm at top form again, but i went into surgery on my period, in agony from that, and this seems like nothing!

i think i have hot flashes, though, and i haven't discussed hrt with gyn yet.

falling asleep again,
mitda

Hey everyone I had my TAH kept overies though on WED Nov 7 came home sat. Had some bad pain after being moved to bed but not really sure for how long as do't remember anything much but pain before 5:30 then seamed ok. Surgery was at 10 am or so.
Catheter and Iv came out Thursday Nurse tried me on percaset so I didn't have the sleeping problems from Tylonol 3. Passed out in first shower.
Just thought it was first time up stuff. Later was making a tea and made it to bed but sorta just fell there and couldn't move for a bit. That night after another dose of percaset I sorta freaked a bit. started crying was jumpy clenching everything and just wacked I told them that was the problme and NO more drugs. extra stregnth tylonol and nothing else.
My nurse during day was really good and she made sure since I was just taking tylonol to give my aanti inflamitory as well ( advil)
They let me go Sat morning even though I hadn't pooped I knew I would at my house. I was walking upright and passing gas.
Got home and yep within an hour relaxed enough to go.
Gotta watch cause I to am more comfortable standing up so when up do stuff. Hubby is off for a week and will keep me in check though.
Have a good day ladies and REST

I had DaVinci surgery (total hysterectomy) done on Friday afternoon and came home on Saturday at noon. I really feel pretty good. I didn't have to use the pain pump in the hospital and so far I haven't needed any pain meds at home. Managed to sleep on my side last night and had a pretty good night. Now I just have to get some patience and rest instead of trying to do things. My husband is staying home this week to take care of me and I should certainly take good advantage of that. Right?
