Bowel issues after 2 months???

OMG! I am having such a hard time lately with BMs. I know, not a pleasant subject, but I gotta find out if anyone else is having issues this far out from their surgeries.

I've been doing really well up until last Friday. I've been more regular since the surgery (after the first week anyway) than I have my whole life it seems. All evening on Friday and all day on Saturday my abdomen felt so bloated and I felt constipated in the worst way. I'm not sure one can qualify as being constipated when they just went the day before, but anyway........... Finally on Sunday I was able to go, but it was so difficult to do! then a few hours later while I was napping, I was awoken by horrible stomach pains and discovered that I had gone from constipation to diarrhea. The pains were so bad I almost screamed! The only thing that kept me from screaming was knowing my daughter was sleeping just down the hall and she has been sick so I didn't want to wake her up.

It almost felt like something was in there holding everything back. Even with the diarrhea. I can't even seem to get gas out most of the time!

I have some of my medical records (I'm in the process of getting all of them and taking them to a rheumatologist) and when I read through them, one of the doctors put in their notes that I had irritable bowel syndrome. Huh. No one ever told me that, but boy oh boy! Lately I'm beginning to believe that one!!!!!

Bowel issues after 2 months???

As a fellow IBS sufferer I can feel your pain. Maybe it isn't IBS it could be a stomach flu or something. As far as it feels like something is holding it back inside it is probably still healing and will take some time. I hope you feel better soon.
