Are baths okay?

Check with your doctor... mine said baths were okay. (I had an LAVH, if it matters.) I think the doctors are all different on this point.

Are baths okay?

The nurses told me no bathing til I was completely healed since I might allow bacteria into the wound. I'm worried by that, that if I take a bath before I'm healed internally, I might get an internal infection.

So I have two small portions of the surgical wound that I still have to be concerned about, but I think they'll be closed within a week. But I'm supposed to be on restriction (nothing in the vagina) for two more weeks, so I have to assume That I could get an infection if I don't wait those two weeks. Besides, if the doctor says Nothing in the vagina, I have to assume that bath water falls in the realm of "nothing".

My doctor said no baths for six weeks, just showers.
