I need a full nights sleep

Hello to all
i just wondered if any of you had sleep issues post hyst, im sure a lot of you have, and i really feel for you all. Im 3 months post TAH/BSO and i m having A LOT of trouble sleeping i seem to take ages dropping off to sleep, then when i do i can wake up between 3 to 4 times a night and to make things worse, over the last week ive started with night sweats aswell. Im taking livial a sort of hrt, so why is my sleep disrupted so much its making me really cranky throught the day and it doesnt matter weather im REALLY tired or not, its always the same. Ive tried otc sleep medication but they really dont work, so what can i do and i dont think my doctor would offer me prescribed medication Please someone, i hope you can help

Try and speak with your doctor again. Has this been going on since the hyst or is it new? The doctor may want to readjust your hrt or he may have other ideas. It is worth a try.

its been going on for a few weeks or so, and it just seems to be getting worse, straight after my hyst i had no trouble sleeping really so i guess its fairly new, i will speak to my doctor again, but im a bit wary of adjusting or starting some new hrt, i dont want to start with a whole new lot of side effects but i suppose i will have to do something, Thanks for the advice. i will keep you posted

I need a full nights sleep

I am 13 months post op and I still have trouble sleeping. I wake up at least 4 times every night. My dr prescribed Restoril. It lets me sleep through the night. I do feel a little groggy in the am, though. But, finally sleeping is wonderful!!

Well you never know the doctor may not want to mess with hrt may think something else is better. I hear you about the side effects, and I sure would hope you do not experience any. Looking forward to hearing what happens. Take care and feel free to post or pm me anytime.

I am sorry you are having trouble sleeping. I am also. I went to the doctor and got a prescription of trazadone. It is not a hard sleeping pill but it does help. Some days it doesn't even work so I feel your frustration. I am going to go back and talk with her as she said there are better ones like ambien I may want to try. I just want to sleep so I am not so cranky too. Good luck. Wishing you better sleep soon.

I notice that I have trouble sleeping, too. It has more to do with being so wound up, it's tough to fall asleep.

Before surgery, I had heavy, almost constant flow (all but 2-3 days per month) and I was always exhausted. Now, I have a lot of energy but I can't always "shut it down."

Also can't take HRT, unfortunately, due to cancer concerns.
