Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

I am not sure what I am feeling today with regard to my bladder. There is a TON of pressure in the absolute lower pelvic area. It is like my bladder is pushing against my vagina. Is is possible that my bladder has fallen at almost 7 weeks post-op? I did not have any bladder work (tack or sling) done during my hysterectomy. This hurts so bad and is so uncomfortable I am taking a percaset and going to lie down til bed time.

I would appreciate any ideas about symptoms of a fallen bladder.

Thanks,
Lesa

Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

It just really sounds like you have a prolapsed bladder (cystocele). Maybe you should go to your OBGYN or get with a Urologist to confirm what's going on.

When I had my cystocele it was pushing out of my vaginal area and I felt really "wet" and just dragging.

If I were you I would sure call your doctor, doctor's nurses, or urologist. Because they sure could advise you really well.

Let us know what you find out.

Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

Two days ago mines felt like that and I aslo had a liitle blood in my urine
and also lots of pressure on my bladder and they told me that I had a
bad bladder infection. They gave me some medication to take for tens days
and followed up with my primary care doctor in 10 days to maek sure that
it is gone. I hope that yours will stop. Your doctor will need to run some
test on you to see waht is going on.

Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

Thanks to Sunny052 and creshaunda for the replies.

I just took a weeks worth of medication for a UTI. This feels different than the uncomfortable pressure from the UTI. It does not feel any better today.

I go in the morning for IVP and cystogram due to bladder leakage issues. I am hoping the dye test will show the position of the bladder so my gyn will know if it has prolapsed or dropped.

Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

hey ledge........i've got the same thing, and i'm 7 weeks as well - but, i know what mine is from..........yesterday, i'd reached up to lift a ceramic baking dish from a high cupboard, and now i've got the dragging/aching feeling in my bladder. i'd had this earlier when i'd "overdone' things as well, and i rested, and it got better. so now i'm punishing myself with lots more rest (i'm so sick of the resting stuff ! ! ), til it rights itself. obviously the muscles holding up the bladder are not at their strongest yet. just hope its not permanent damage this time??? don't know how long it will be before i can reach for stuff???? i thought that 6 weeks would do it? hmmmm......keep hoping.....gee. ps do let us know what the doc says????

Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

Hi, I'll be really interested to hear what your doctor says because I think I'm experiencing the same thing (I'm only a little over 3 weeks post-op TAH/BSO). Do you hurt all of the time? I only feel the pressure and pain when I urinate. I sure hope it's not something like a prolapsed bladder. Ugh!!!

Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

i just found out 2 days ago that I had an awful UTI. I had already taken a weeks worth of cipro for a UTI and still ended up at the ER for bad pain/pressure when I urinate. I did not think it was a UTI becuz i did not have any burning or urgency. They gave me a diff kind of antibiotic and some pain meds. I begining to think that alot of women get a UTI after. I believe that it is from the catheter. I know mine is. Im starting to feel a little better. Very tired tho. Hope you feel better, and def go to dr!

Possible Bladder Issue? Bladder Dropped?

Thanks for the replies. Last night I did the prep kit to be prepared for the IVP and the cystogram. The phospo-soda stuff I had to drink last night made me gag with every drink. YUCK! I did not get much sleep due to spending so much time in the bathroom most of the night.

I went in this morning for the IVP and the cystogram. The cystogram took about 15 minutes and was ok except the massive amount of saline they fill the bladder with-it was cold and I thought my bladder was going to bust before it released into the catheter. The IVP...let's just say that I hope I never have to go through one of those ever again. It was not painful but VERY, VERY uncomfortable. The dye contrast left a metal taste in my mouth and made me feel really warm but otherwise ok. Also the nurse had a hard time putting in the IV - I was about to slug her if she kept missing the vein.

My gyn should have the results in a day or two so I will have to wait to see if I have fistula and/or prolapsed bladder.

I think the UTI is gone. I do not have burning when urinating but my bladder has extreme pressure constantly, it feels like it is really pushing against my vaginal wall. While the feeling is not extremely painful (except for a few times), it is seriously uncomfortable. When I urinate my bladder hesitates and I feel like it may not be emptying completely. I still have bladder leakage - some days more than others.

I just want to get better. To be able to function like a normal person. I know it takes patience and I am really trying.

Ledge...so sorry that you had to do that phoso soda stuff!!Yuk! All the stuff you had to go through with the cystogram and IVP must have been awful.

Hopefully you will find out what the problem is. I know you want to feel better after going through all that you have!
Take care...I'm still anxious to see what your docs say you have. Continue to let us know when you know.
