Dry flakes on lips?

Yes, dry lips and skin (particularly on my belly). I am drinking loads of water so definitely not dehydrated. Applying the body lotion and lip balm like it is going out of fashion!

Dry flakes on lips?

One of the nurses in the hospital gave me a tube of petroleum jelly (medical grade vaseline) for my lips and it was a life saver!

Dry flakes on lips?

Hi girls.

I have had 3 general anaesthetics this year and the skin on my lips always comes off. So I believe this is a side effect of the G/A. I normally have oily skin and I have very dry skin in places now, but unfortunately my face is still very oily. I swear by a Neutragena Lip 'stick'.

Yes. Dry lips and belly. I have been using blistex on the lips and I have switched to Olay body wash instead of soap and Aveeno cream on belly. I have not heard of Neutrogena lip "stick' before. Is that actual lipstick or is it a lip balm?

Sorry mrswillie

It is a lip balm, which comes in stick form, I didn't know what to call it without confusing you all in the US. My pharmacist recommended it to me as it has urea(sp?) in which draws out your own moisture from beneath the skin and is also moisturiser in itself.

Thanks for clearing that up. I can not tell you for sure if we have that here. I will have to look for it. Thanks! BTW my face is till very oily also I have been using Olay Total effects anti aging anti blemish cleanser. It comes in a tube. I have found it to be a help with the oily skin.

Dry flakes on lips?

just remember that the more you use lip stuff -- the more you lick your lips so you end up using more of the lip stuff and then you lick your lips more and then more lip stuff.
you get the idea

try vitimin e oil -- it lasts longer -- helps add mostiure rather than pulling moisture from your lips -- and while you are at it rub some on your scar.

just my thoughts on it.

Dry flakes on lips?

We have blistex here in the UK. I took it with me to hospital. My lips were extremely dry post op and being unable to eat or drink post op and being very sick made them very chapped. Cant remember if anyone else applied the blistex for me in hospital. It was very welcome.
