Back to the Castle...

Thanks again ladies ~ Sadly the saga continues. My catheter wasn't working this am. Got it working again and now starting this afternoon I'm running a fever again in spite of still being on antibiotics and taking 3 ibuprofen at a time. So I go back to the Dr again at 10am tomorrow and I'm hoping he can sort this out. I had little melt down earlier when my cath stopped working because when I called the Dr he said if the little tricks he gave me didn't start it back up I was going to have to go back to the ER again! Luckily it did. Hopefully that's a sign of good things to come and that this new fever isn't yet another issue.

I'll check in tomorrow after my appointment!

CAmich - how are you? Did you get your med issue worked out? I've been watching for you.

Back to the Castle...

I had a pubo vaginal bladder sling done last Wednesday with my TAH and had the catheter in the first overnight. I was so worried about that and I never felt a thing. Love not having to get up in the night to pee! They taught me how to self cath on Thursday after each time I pee to see how much is left in my bladder and I have to record all the numbers. I can stop after I have three consecutive times of having less than 150cc after peeing on my own. I was hoping I would be done by now, but haven't had those three consecutive times yet. Also haven't pooped yet, so I'm thinking once that happens, maybe the other will work better too!! The thought of having to cath myself scared me to death and now it doesn't bother me at all. I only wish I could do it sitting on the toilet, but I have to lay on the bed with the container. Good luck - I hope your infection goes away quickly!
