does any one else see the humor??

Hi, I bought new panties, also, prior to surgery, in order to celebrate no bleeding. Though I was post-menopausal, I was still bleeding, hence my problem.

I had a polyp removed in May 07 that was causing bleeding. My bleeding that led to my TAH BSO was due to uterine cancer.

I've had very little bleeding, post-surgery. That's as normal as having bleeding, according to my doc.

It is funny that when I make out a store note...pads still go on..then I cross them off and laugh at myself. I too, have been shopping for new undies. It is so much fun to buy whatever I want..not just what is practical.

Me too! I've stopped bleeding (finally) but still wearing a pant liner, just in case - "in case of what?" I keep asking myself but it's a hard habit to break!

I've had very little bleeding since my surgery, but I had just a tad yesterday and I just felt like freaking out. I know this is normal post surgery, but bleeding has been my cancer symptom.

Pads - oh my - I've been wearing them, just in case. For now, my bladder needs some aid, though not often. I'll need to talk with my doc more about this. Right now, she said it takes some time to wake up the bladder.

I hope my bladder sling is still in place. My sling surgery was 2-3 years ago.

I had very little bleeding afterward and was able to just wear panti-liners which I always before wore "in case". I was looking at my underwear drawer today realizing I can throw out all my "period panties"! I was looking at my sheets today thinking I don't ever have to sleep on a towel in case the 2 night pads (!) I was wearing shifted and I stained the sheets and the bed yet again! I realize I can wear light coloured clothing every day of the month!

I wasn't happy about this surgery but there are little celebrations to be found!

It is very funny that we are excited about new undies!! But, I loved reading this thread because it is so true. I am looking forward to not having to h t-shirts that cover my butt, just in case. And, having my dh do the "check" as I walk in front of him. Ha! TMI I know........oh and I can not wait to buy the cleanest whitest sheets for the bed and throw away all the old sheets.

No kidding - I had made comments to everyone about "burning my 'period panties'" - I already have gorgeous undies, but considering I had a period 2-3 weeks out of every month, I didn't wear them as much I would have liked to.

And being able to go on trips without having to do them around your periods??? Geez - or be able to go on a long drive and not dread getting up out of the car without gushing all over the place? Or keeping a spare pair of undies in your purse "just in case" and a change of clothes in the car as well.

I will so NOT miss any of that!

I still find myself doing the panty check every time I go to the bathroom. I just can't believe that I won't ever bleed again.
I did go a couple of weeks ago and bought some pretty new panties. Now it's time to go through the drawer and pitch the old stained ones.

I told someone about this and she just celebrated with me. It was a very emotional moment.

I had the sheet issue some, but not so much, but I was always heavy with the monthly stuff.

Speaking of sheets, recently we were in San Francisco and stayed at a really nice hotel. My hubby loved the nice quality sheets. I bought some on eBay for him either for Christmas or our anniversary on 12/28.

We were in San Francisco in early Sept. I don't know, but i wonder if I had cancer then.

Happy tears ... We can celebrate the holidays and our anniversary, cancer-free. It's so hard to believe.
