4 weeks post op - pain in right groin area

Tori,
Glad to hear it was nothing serious. It is scary when we have a unexplained pain after so many weeks. We all have so many things going on but thank goodness we have our hystersisters to talk to.
Take care of yourself!!

Thanks, who would have thought a little pulled muscle would hurt so much!!!

I do not know what I would have done if I hadn't found this site, just wish I'd found it sooner!!

4 weeks post op - pain in right groin area

Hi, a quick update.

The pain was not getting any better yesterday (had me up half the night!) so I did not want to wait all weekend so I went back to my GP's surgery yesterday. Saw a different dr in the practice and he said he believes all my pain is to do with either my bladder or bowels and he tested my urine and he found blood and infection!!! So I have a UTI (I have no problems peeing, no burning no fever). He has sent sample to the hospital to check it more thoroughly and also took blood for a blood count as this will show up any infection inside that he can't see.

Still have a lot of consipation issues after 5 weeks post-op so he has changed my medication for that as he thinks this is causing a lot of my abdominal pain. I really don't think this is a pulled muscle and was getting really worried, am on 3 days antibiotics now and get test results Monday or Tuesday. So we will see what happens then.

I hope all of you guys are well.

cms_6060 ...what did your dr say about the similar pain you are having?

(((Tori)))
Thank goodness for second opinions. I'm so glad to hear you were able to see another dr who could look at your situation with fresh eyes to see what your other dr didn't see. You were very wise to follow your instincts and call again.
I hope you will start feeling better today. Keep us posted on your progress.

TORIATEE, Just reading this thread as it sounds like what I have had. Happy to know it is nothing to worry about. I had it in my left groin and didn't know if something was wrong or if it was because I was walking 2 miles a day, It felt llike my inides were falling out. I am fine now and walking more.

Joan, I am glad you are fine now. I can't imagine walking for 2 miles! My belly hurts when I stand for more than a minute.

I still am not sure what is causing this pain and its certainly not got any better (worse if anything). Its just strange that I mainly get it whilst laying down, although if I twist my upper body (without thinking!) that husts my groin also. So I do not belive a UTI could cause this as its not really where my bladder is. It will be interesting to see if the tests show anything, will let you all know after the weekend.
