Nov 15 Sisters, we have moved.

Anyone can post to this thread of course. I started a thread on the pre-op board for sisters that are having their surgery on November 15, but any of our dear sisters can join in. I believe we ladies have formed a friendship and it is so nice to be sharing this experience with someone else who really knows EXACTLY how we feel. I hope we can continue to share for months to come because honestly this is a life changing event, at least I feel like it is for me. As you ladies know our bond has asked to be moved to this forum, so here is our thread and hopefully it will be politically correct. I thought we could email each other but then honestly that would be one on one and it has really been nice sharing everything between all of us. I am still going to post to the pre-op board but this can be our personal thread where we can still meet lots of new friends. Oh and remember if it is personal info, send it by private message. LOL

Nov 15 Sisters, we have moved.

I did more pre-op cleaning today. I got my daughters room organized and cleaned and even cleaned the carpet. That is where I am going to put my mom so I tried to make it where she could walk in without stepping on toys. LOL. Straightened up my den and cleaned that carpet. Did more laundry. I probably sound like a pig with all this cleaning I am doing. LOL I think I am a binge cleaner anyway. I woke up this morning with my nose stopped up and not feeling really well, but got just fine as the day went on.

Now my abdomen is hurting and my back. Glad to finally be rid of that pain once and for all. I almost got scared again this afternoon. I started thinking about the hysterectomy again and almost panicked, so I got up and cleaned.

DD is doing just fine and not sick anymore. She is even enjoying her room again and is in there watching a movie right now.

I've been on a cleaning spree, too. I know it'll get all discombobulated again before I go, but that, too will give me something to think about. I think it's definitely a life changing event. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) a hysterectomy is the only type of event that removes an entire bodily system. I'm not too afraid of the surgery, and not too afraid of the recovery. I'm afraid of the psychological ramifications. It sounds crazy, but I'm afraid that it will change my personality. I've come across a lot of articles that say the women just don't feel like themselves anymore. And that's what really scares me.

Yes, I waited till just these last few days to start cleaning because I know it'll just be back to what it was too soon. Having a 4 year old and 7 dogs in the house will do that.

I am not afraid of the surgery, it will be my 7th surgery so I have been down that road. I am a little nervous about the recovery due to the pelvic floor repair too, I hear the perineum incision is painful. But I am the most concerned about how my body and my personality are going to handle surgical menopause. I too have heard how women woke up a different person and this is first hand from a few women I know. They weren't horror stories, just personality changes. Like being more outspoken and having a shorter fuse. LOL I am also a little concerned that I might still have pain and that is just unexceptable.

I'm glad you have found a place to keep up with each other but I think you are making things more complicated than they need to be. The thing is that if you post in the pre-op forum, you will meet all your "sisters"... even those going in when you go in. Pre-op is a small window and its a way to meet everyone waiting for surgery including all the nov 15 gals. They are experiencing the same things you are.

Then....When you get home from your surgery, there will be a special thread just for those who had surgery the same week as you....dated!

This forum is for non-hysterectomy discussions. So please make sure you ask your questions and help the others waiting by posting in the pre-op forum.

I was going to clean yesterday but decided to rest instead I was sore fore my work week and just plain old drained so I am thinking that today would be a better cleaning day Dh wants to do the grocery shoping to stock up on what he is allowing me to do when I get home because he will be at work and does not want anyone to bug me he even has yellow caution tape he is teasing me with for the door. So I will be on and off today to get the bedroom and living room cleaned. I still have one night left at work also tomorrow is my last night..

I got more cleaning done yesterday and woke up and cleaned my living room and dining room carpet today. So I am about to wind down with the cleaning. I stocked up on groceries last week. I wish I had some yellow caution tape.

I have to get up and drive Wednesday. We'll leave here about 10 am and drive to Dallas. I have to go to the hospital for my blood tests and to see how much money they want and then mom and I will go out to eat and we are staying in a motel close to the hospital. We'll get up the next morning to be a the hospital at 7:30.
