chickette 2. I had my hyst. on 11/15. LAVH. I kept one ovary. I got cleared to swim. My family went to Florida and I asked before I went if it was okay to swim. I am also glad to hear from some of you that you are nervous about the intimate part. DH and I have yet to try. I am really nervous. Anyone have any suggestions?

At my 3 week check-up my doc said I didn't need to come back for 3 months unless I was having problems. And at I would be ok for intimancy at 6 weeks. That went great!!! I still tire easy and am making first long driving trip today, so hopefull my energy will hold up for that and the things I need to do while there. I'm feeling much better especially since I've gotten hormones........

TAH with ovaries removed on Nov. 12

I have a feeling that I will be fine ... but at the same time Im scared that soemthing as silly as swimming will cause an infection (if Im not healed properly on the vaginal cuff) and I'll be back to square one ..... I will however ring my GP this week and see what he says as my Gynae is away on holidays until next week so Im unable to get in contact with him yet

I tried the "deed" with my dh but it was painful for me because I am VERY TIGHT. I was tight before the surgery and I asked the surgeon to please not sew me up so tightly but he did. IT will be a very slow process to complete this deed. I am not sure if I was extra scared because 1) the kids were not totally asleep yet, 2) I hadn't been cleared for it yet and was feeling guilty but when the doctor did my internal the following day it hurt very much and it wasn't as thick/wide as a penis. if you get my meaning. We didn't even complete the task because it hurt me. I didn't say anything but my DH seem to know and he cut it off right then and there.

DH and I are going on a date night in a couple of weeks time without the kids and I hope this will help for me to relax and also to allow us to be intimate without kids down the hall. I am also hoping that without the kids to interupt it will help as well.

There are some other suggestions I've read about for women in my situation and we might have to try those first. I know that some women have also suggested having KY jelly on hand just incase as well to help.

I hope no one else has the experience I had because after so long without being intimate, I know I was feeling very frisky and that kind of ruined it for both of us.

Glad everyone seems to be recovering well other than the boredom issues and the intimate details. I know how important those things are also but at least for many of us we are pain free now.

LADYKAGT - I can understand the fear of pain. For most/all of use we have lived with pain for many years. The one book I read named Gynecology for Woman (Canadian Book) suggests starting out small and going bigger if you understand what I mean. I hope that you and your beau have other ways of showing your love and being intimate. Take Care of yourself.
