Hysterectomy dates Nov 12-Nov 19,2007

I have lost 34 lbs with low carb and exercising daily. I am also taking a calcium supplement. It is believed that Calcium helps with weight loss. There is concern that with our hormones (or lack of) our bodies dont process calcium properly. Aslo drinking lots of water daily.

I am on the Climara patch 0.1 mg/day. I cant tell if I am having hot flashes or its job stress. One of the hostesses here has suggested that I might need to adjust the patch dosage because of the weight loss. I have my annual appointment in December so I am going to keep track and talk to my doctor then.

Can you believe its been a year?! The weather really reminds me of last year.

It was great to see you name with your posting!

ComfortableLady,
Are you doing some kind of special exercise are just what you have always done? I hate the way my body will not do what I want it to do. I am curious if I went up to the 0.1 level of v dots if that would help me turn a corner. When I talk to the nurse on the phone at gyn office I can't think of the right thing to say that gets her to give me the higher dosages. The only thing that comes out is I am wondering if I need it, I don't lie well, in that situation. I actually get the thing I want easier from my dr. Please tell me if you have any ideas. Good to see your name too.

are any of you having trouble with weak abdominal muscles following a complete abdominal hysterectomy? I've been taking an awesome Abs and pilates classes at a local health club and my abs are getting stronger, but am amazed at things women older than me can do even on their first class that I still can't do or struggle with. I am determined to get my core muscles stronger, but I'm thinking that the vertical cut of my surgery and probably thru the abdominal muscles have made them weaker. I wonder if this is something that is permanent.

hey ladies

Hello!
I wrote a post in the anniversary thing- one year! yay!
I don't miss those crazy girl parts at all! It's true I have a whole new set of problems- but they aren't as difficult to live with as the alternative!
I hope you all are doing okay!
I gained about 40 pounds since last year at this time. I'm not enjoying the extra pounds-most of that was from eating too much- letting go and just letting myself eat whatever and moving too little because I didn't feel like it- but I really gained weight sometimes for no freaking reason! Anyone else?
I hope you ladies are happy you are where you are in your recovery and progress!

Good evening, ladies. Can't believe it has been a year. I'm back at my pre-surgery weight, but dealing with unwanted extra inches. Just completed a herbal detox and second week of tai-chi. This is my first real exercise class in several years, as I have an unrelated spinal cord injury. It is great to read the posts and familiar names. Blessings for a wonderful Thanksgiviong season. Be well.

What I miss from last year

Hi-Ladies,
We are getting all our holiday duties back in full force this year. I enjoyed the break from the work that Thanksgiving and Christmas can bring. It felt like my childhood again because I only had to show up and put my feet under the table last year. People were concerned that I may over do so I was babied by all.
I guess Santa is gone again, its back to the kitchen for me. How about you? Welcome to casserole and turkey cooking H**l. Hanging in there ladies this too shall pass.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Nov 12-Nov 19,2007

Hello Ladies!
It's been two years ago today since my TVH.
YAY

The other day I was walking thru the store and passed the feminine hygiene products. I mentioned (in jest of course) to my husband that perhaps we should stock pile them for our dd since the prices are bound to continue to rise.

There is no way that I miss the intense pain of my periods and the horrible fatigue! I am so glad that I changed from a male doctor and was heard by my new female physician who took action and didn't say, "oh, you are too young for that" and "it's normal, live with it". (before anyone flames me, I'm only speaking specifically of my experience and I acknowledge that there are many male drs who are wonderful!)

I'm horrified that other women are also being treated this way and I'm letting you all know that you DO HAVE CHOICES and do not need to live in pain.

It's your body ladies. Do not allow anyone to tell you that living in pain is normal and acceptable.

I've gained a bit of weight, but then, I have been quite sedentary of late. Walking is one of the things that has always helped me to lose weight and connect with the family. Going to be starting this again over the Thanksgiving break.

I am so fortunately blessed to have found this site with such wonderful resources and even more fantastic ladies.

To all of you, Happy Thanksgiving and may your blessings be many.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Nov 12-Nov 19,2007

Hey! Have any of you found a solution to the weight? I am exercising, eating right, using progestrone cream, taking my armour, what does it take to remove the spare tire? I am tired of seeing my grandmother in the mirror. I've been off of estrogen patches for months. Do any of you know about using flaxseed? I understand that it will take the E2 out of the fat cells, and put in good estrogen. Is there a flaxseed based estrogen patch out there?
