HRT Forever???

I'm on .25mg climara patch and change it weekly after my total hyst (including ovaries) in Jan '05. Question is that I would love to go off the patch and try something a little more natural. My biggest complaint is weight gain. A whooping 40 lbs in 2 years! I have tried to at least not gain anymore but it just insn't working. I was thinking of taking some herbal supplement but simply don't know where to begin. In all honesty I should be on a heavier patch as this one is the lowest and I'm stilling having sympotoms so imagine how bad it could be to have nothing at all! Any suggestions on how to make this tough desicion would be much appreciated!

many thanks

HRT Forever???

Too little as well as too much estrogen can cause weight gain. It is all about balance. There really isn't such a thing as "natural" when it comes to hrt. There is bio identical, which the Climara is, but even supplements are not really natural.

Have you talked with your doctor about the weight gain? Maybe it's time for some tweaking of the hrt and it also would not hurt to have your thryoid checked as well.
