Don't let yourself get dehydrated

mjd: I don't think I can do Ensure or Boost. They are so synthetic that it makes me feel like I'm drinking fake chemicals or something. I need something with less ingredients, do you know what I mean? But thanks for your suggestion anyway.

toastntea: I can't believe you are gf too! I just read your story before coming to your post on this thread. You have great suggestions. I don't do ground beef at all, but strawberries have iron and I am drinking a smoothie every now and then. You seem to have the same disdain for ultra sweet that i do. I think that's funny. I know i'm still not drinking enough, but it's a real challenge for me. I hope you are recovering well. Good forthought on the yogurt to combat yeast overgrowth. Do you study nutrition or read medical lit?
My wt was 86.7 this morning, so yay for me!

Michelle - great news on the weight!

Do you like raisins? They are supposed to be good for iron. Trying to think if there is something iron-rich you could put in your smoothies (just a bit) - brewers yeast or something?

If you don't eat meat, just make sure you are getting vitamin B12 somehow. Are you a vitamin person or do you try and get all the levels from what you eat - when you are well that is!

So glad to hear you are coming along...how is the pain these days? A bit better??

Don't let yourself get dehydrated

Arly3 my pain is so much better. I make sure I don't get constipated, and so I am generally ok. No more pain pills for me.
I don't like swallowing pills, so I drink the immune tablets in water for vitamins. I buy children's gummy vitamins too when I can afford it.
I am doing better on the food and liquids. I did too much too soon last eve, and threw everything up. Yuck. After a few hours I was a little hungry, so had a cuppa tea and some gluten free ginger snaps. Much better in my tummy. Thanks!
How are you coming along? Any lingering problems? Back to work?

Don't let yourself get dehydrated

Dear Ida,
Yes, I'm a certified holistic nutritional consultant.... I work with clients on a pro-bono basis only, as it is my philanthropic way of giving back. I work a full-time job to support my family as well, so I don't do as much of it as I would like -- maybe someday!
